no doesn't bother me if he isn't in the team. We don't really know how Gagai will go in first grade next year so can't be to excited yet.

Put it this way..
The Broncos are banking on Gagai as their long term replacement for Lockyer.
The Roosters and the Cowboys threw big coin at him promising him a fullback position in first grade.
When you hear Phil Gould saying in commentary that Hoffman best position is actually 5/8th, he is mistakenly talking about Gagai.

I thought Corey Norman was the next Lockyer.. I am confused, it seems every kid coming through the Broncos system with talent is the next Lockyer..

Norman was never going to be the next Lockyer.
He had a couple of decent games in the trials and everyone hopped on his bandwagon except for me cause I have an eye for good talent [eusa_naugh

I actually think Gould was talking about Norman.

Ch. 9 kept getting Hoffman and Norman confused.

You're wrong there.
Peter O'Sullivan was chasing Gagai to come to the Roosters.
Thats how the word got around Gagai is a better a 5/8th than fullback.
You'll find that everyone was getting Hoffman and Gagai mixed up.

I'm pretty sure Gould and Sterlo called Hoffman, Norman on a number of occasions, which would make a lot of sense given their limited exposure to Gagai.

Err no, you're wrong again Big Pete [icon_thumbs_do
Gould was the one that started it, he was the one that got the tip from O'sullivan at the Roosters.
Gould is still heavily involved with the Roosters.

At least they're not the "next Alfie" anymore.

Why would the Roosters be chasing Gagai as "the next big 5/8" when they already have "the next big 5/8" in Carney? [icon_shru However a cracking young fullback - that's something the Roosters could do with.

Personally I haven't seen enough of Gagai play to have a real opinion one way or the other at this stage.

His defence looked pretty soft at the back there.

Agreed. Got brushed off in every attempt.

But atleast he was there to lay hands on them, which is more than some fullbacks who would have been on the opposite side of the field.

I'm pretty sure Gould was saying this kid has been playing five eigth in the 20's...which is Norman.

Doesn't matter anyways, we're just arguing if the commentators are ignorant rather than if Gagai can play five eigth which given what I've seen I wouldn't exactly doubt.
