I must preface this with the fact that I saw this idea on another site, but it's a great idea for a topic so I'm sure they won't mind.

The scenario is you are in charge of picking the starting 17 for a new NRL franchise. There is no salary cap but you can only take one player from each current team, you can take 2 from one team to make your 17. Here's mine:

1. Josh Hoffman - Broncos
2. Michael Gordon - Panthers
3. Greg Inglis - Souths
4. Matt Cooper - Dragons
5. Aquila Uate - Knights
6. Jonathon Thurston - Cowboys
7. DCE - Manly
8. James Graham - Bulldogs
9. Cameron Smith - Storm
10. Luke Douglas - Titans
11. Paul Gallen - Sharks
12. Feleti Mateo - Warriors
13. Corey Parker - Broncos

14. Reni Maitua - Eels
15. Martin Kennedy - Roosters
16. Adam Blair - Tigers
17. David Shillington - Raiders

Good topic, but just moving it to League Talk :woot:

1- Michael Gordon (Panthers)
2- Jason Nightingale (Dragons)
3- Greg Inglis (50uff$)
4- Justin Hodges (Broncos)
5- Akuila Uate (Knights)
6- Terry Campese (Canberra)
7- Jonathan Thurston (Cowboys)
8- Tim Mannah (Eels)
9- Cameron Smith (Storm)
10-Russell Packer (Warriors)
11-Paul Gallen (Sharks)
12-Sam Thaiday (Broncos)
13-Glenn Stewart (Manly)

14-Ben Barba (Bulldogs)
15-Gareth Ellis (Tigers)
16-Martin Kennedy (Roosters)
17-Nate Myles (Titans)

Don't you want the side to actually fit the cap though??

Too hard. Besides, no one knows what each player is really on...

Probably true, would be better off doing it once Supercoach is up and running so you can have a go at getting a team under the cap..

L Lewis

M. Kennedy

Darren Lockyer and Steve price.

Chuck Norris on the bench

I'm changing my 17th pick to an ESL guy /rebel.

Not necessarily the best players out of each club but I also wanted to pick quality players with big futures ahead of them as well as some of the best players, period.

Awesome teams Jeba and Coxy, really valuable contributions to this thread. :)

I'll be signing Tim Sheens as my head coach.

There's nothing subtle about beating a dead horse.
