I don't think Hunt would have made a difference to be honest. The Storm seem to know what we're doing before we do. Always one step ahead. Most of our young players have gone into their shell, and I feel that it would have been the same for Hunt.

Yeah I totally agree. Melbourne are just on fire. Wallace would have helped, but not sure how different the scoreline would be! [icon_frown

Please don't end up sounding like St.George fans people [icon_non

BHunt wouldn't have made much difference here tonight.

Our defence has been terrible as well as our attack.

Wouldn't have made a difference? At least we'd have a fucking Hlafback playing in 7, and our 5/8th playing in the role he fucking knows.

And hence my worries were warranted. We have no discipline are playing like headless chocks. Why have a smoke screen and play a 50yo unfit, slow bastard at no. 6 in TC. This game was gone last sunday when Wally was ruled out and we have not shown up to play.

The only player that can hold his head up is Thaiday IMO. Macca lloks lost, Locky has no idea. Why aren't we slowing the play the ball down like they are, play the friggin refs.

After the last 2 months this is such a let down, and I'm afraid our rookie coach has learnt a hard lesson tonight and will learn from it for 2010. And guys don't blame the ref or video ref, yes a shocking call or 2 but if you wrap the guy with the ball up it don't happen..........arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhh so so so frustrating

broncos are showing heart imo, they just are clueless in attack without a halfback and clueless in defense with all the footwork and pace the storm have. but shit what a boring game.

We're in a shell because no-one knows the F*** what to do. There is absolutely no structure.

Apart from which, the Storm are beautifully coached.

They'll do the Eels. Too quick, too clever, too disciplined.

I'm not so sure about that.

The Eels have that unpredictability about them, that could really rattle the Storm.

Defence is just awful. You can't even talk about attack IMO, when the Broncos are just being walked all over. If players did their job and made some tackles then maybe Lockyer wouldn't be on the back foot all the time in attack. I can't believe how much Gus is going on about it. When was the last time you saw a team miss that many tackles and have any effect in attack?

True, but the Storm can outscore any team if Inglis and Slater are on fire - which they are.

Eithad stadium is a horrible place to play league, how damn boring is this game. I'm almost not even disappointed because this game is so boring that I don't really feel much emotion.

I was hoping I wasn't the only one. I'm spending more time looking at the computer screen than the TV screen. Completely different than last week.

Completely agree. How can they come out with this crap? Where is there so-called pride? Locky is on his own. He needs a halfback, not an old forward next to him.

How can we go from last week to this? Seriously an outsider to footy would think the Broncos were throwing the game, because this is just woeful.

And it would be nice to get a f****** penalty. Storm's markers are constantly offside and they are laying all over us.

And a fingertip is not downward pressure. Any other part of the field and it would have been a knock on straight away.

Apart from how bad we have been it sh@ts me how they grab hold of the ball or the arm holding the ball in every tackle with not even a whiff of a penalty and we just roll off with hardly an effort to hold down.

Slaters no try would have been a penalty for a double movement if it had been referred so I don't know what the F@#k Gus was going on about.

Just how Locky is expected to play 6 & 7 I don't know, instead of being down in 1 position we have managed to screw up 2.

I'm still hoping we can score a couple early enough in the second to make them nervous but I fear 50 or 60, that would be emabarrasing.

Where are all the people on this forum who think the Storm's players are crap? This isn't just us being crap the Storm have ruthlessly executed a gameplan and taught us a 40 minute footy lesson.

First week of the finals should be home ground advantage.

Second week on should all be played at the SFS/Suncorp.

Melbourne can go and get rooted !!!!

I don't think we'll even score in the second half.

We haven't looked at all threatening.

I agree with Nashy regarding the No. 7 situation - if we play a halfback (arguably the most important position on the field), we at least give ourselves the best chance possible of doing SOMETHING in attack. At the moment, we are doing precisely zero. Why? We don't have a halfback in the squad at all and our best player is playing a position that he's played maybe once or twice in his career - if that. And in a preliminary final.

Sorry, but we've done this kind of stuff before under Wayne - and time after time its been proven that is just doesn't work.

Shane Perry was crappest halfback we've ever had. But at least we played a halfback in the halfback's position. Not saying the same result would've come about here, not by a long shot, but you get my point.
