He showed a bit of heart but I don't think he ever actually wanted to win this 3rd set and go to a 4th

Come on Chris!

Chris O'Connell stays alive in his match winning the fourth set tiebreak against 12 seed Tommy Paul.

Last set. Dig deep.

Might be one of the best young talents I have ever seen in tennis this young kid from Brazil. Joao Fonseca. 18 year old. Just beat the 9 seed Andrey Rublev in straight sets. Will be in the top 10 rather soon. An absolute beast.

On another note it is absolutely embarrassing that Olivia Gadecki was the headline act for the women on Rod Laver Arena nights session. Imagine getting that ticket and finding that out. That is horrible scheduling.

Popyrin - I really thought he finally had it together and was on his way up toward top ten where his talent should have him but nope still inconsistent and gone in the first round.

Looked like a guy that rested on his big year last year and didn't do much in the off season. Saw him play in Brisbane the other week. Was bad that day. Looked physically weak today and then his mental demons from previous years crept in. Bit different being the guy with expectations now as a seed in the big tourneys.

Jordan Thompson taking on Nuno Borges after the women's singles match between Siegemund and Zheng.

It's a winnable match for Thompson.

Now Draper up 6-5.

Kokk struggling here and looks like it’s going to the 5th set.

***** sake.

Had the match there for the taking and loses 4 straight games to lose the set.

Mentally he looks gone.
