am I the only one confused by the judiciary. Dane Nielson gets sent off during the Storms game for almost taking someones head off, he is charged with a grade 4 careless high tackle and could potentially only miss 1 week. Ben Te'o gets charged with a grade 2 dangerous throw and could miss 3 weeks. i know there not the same thing but... you would think that a grade 4 charge would see Neilson out for longer than a week

and what about Nuasala's (sp) tackle on Ty Williams

If that is an illegal tackle and will only draw a penalty I would instruct my biggest meanest player to smash the opposition fullback on the first bomb put up

the penalty would be worth far less then the psychological damage it would cause to the fullback

Keep in mind Neilsen did get sent off, wich usually means the culprit gets a lot less time on the sideline.

Him getting sent off means nothing... each grading level caries a certain amount of base points

What? LOL. Frank's tackle on Williams was a late shot. It wasn't high or anything, and not really that dangerous - The only dangerous part about it was the fact that Williams wasn't prepared for the collision, but it wasn't high or reckless or anything like that. It deserved a penalty and didn't deserve being put on report.
It wasn't a late shot - it was an early shot. IMO, I think something more than a penalty was warranted. How was it not dangerous? You can't run through and smash a bloke like that when he doesn't even have the ball. He never had eyes for the ball, his sole intention was to get down there and smash him.

Actually it was an early shot [icon_razz1

I can see Pedros point, in that if that is all you get, a penalty, why not rattle the rib cage of the fullback or wingers early on and get them thinking. It would have to be an advantage.

Sam Perrett? What the hell are you talking about?!

IMO, it's pretty dangerous to attack a player WITHOUT the ball, when he's preparing to take a high ball, thus leaving his ribs well and truly exposed. It might not be illegal, but it's dangerous.

Well, let's send Ashton Sims or someone Hayne's way on Sunday.

Opens the door for some more of those types of tackles

then the league will step in as they have with the kickers etc

what happens if ty williams gets knocked out for the rest of the game
does his team only get a penalty out of it and continue to play a man down for the rest of the game ...hardly seems fair to me

I'm pretty sure Melbourne did it to Brett Stewart in the grand final. and by gosh it was sensational.

There would have definitely still been a penalty! He never had eyes for the ball, and he hit him without the ball. That's a penalty regardless of whether or not the bloke gets hurt.

Not sure if we'll see a lot more of it (I don't think too many players would be stupid enough to do it so blatantly!), but if there is I agree there will possibly be a change to the rules or to the charges that can be brought against a player.

If memory serves me correctly, didn't Stewart just get to the ball before being hit, or it was simultaneous? Williams was no where near the ball when he got smashed.

same time and that made it legal

its much harder to time that sort of tackle ,but any old nuffy can just run thru and smash someone when they are not looking

Sorry...Ty Williams. HAHA. Sam Perett? WTF? I'm on crakc.

A little bit dangerous. Not worthy for report. That's all I'm saying.
Go easy Rock, I know it's hard times with you're beloved Blues about to get smashed again on home soil [icon_wink
On topic, Judiciary system is very inconsistent, I hate it but at the same time I doubt they could come up with a "fairer" system which people would like.

We'll see if that LOL will be still alive in 30 hours time :P
