The scapegoat...

Our forwards weren't really firing when Webcke was on the books.

It is actually quite interesting to look back to the start of the year where most of our expectations with a new coach, a light-weight forward pack, no wingers and Locky and Hodgo returning from serious injuries was that we would be happy to make the top 8 and the year was a re-building year. I'll let others research and find the thread/s as can't be bothered but they are there.

Then we win the first 6 or 8 or whatever, are on fire on the premiership points table at least, keeping in mind the many lucky victories in there, and the expectations are a premiership and minor premiership suddenly, with the SOO still ahead of us and luck to final catch up with us.

Whilst I am disappointed with our inept performances of late, I believe the team realistically is where we should be mid table and with plenty of work to do to develop players to take us back to the top of the ladder over the next 5 years, yes 5 years as we re-build. The crux of the side will be built around the likes of Wallace, McCullough, Parker, Falou, Thaiday, Kenny to name a few.

And for the lost players, yeah would have been good to keep some but the salary cap is there to spread the talent around and the real reason we lost the players.

We will make the 8 but we won't go far in the finals.

If we make the 8 we are always going to be a chance with Lockyer and Co in the side.. It just depends on defence and attitude IMO. Sure the forward pack isn't much chop when compared to others but if they go into games with the right attitude they can surely hold there won most of the time and give us an even chance of winning...

Shane Webcke, for being a sook and not manning up when he made a mistake.

When he was forwards coach our forwards were firing. When he retired, they stopped.

and Bruno. FFS.

Add Civa & Hannant to that squad that we'd still have if he wasn't in charge.
How exactly did Webcke NOT man up? He admitted his mistake, and he stepped down which he thought was the right thing to do considering he didn't think the players he'd criticised would work well with him after that all came out. Maybe the players are the ones who needed to man up, deal with the issues they had with Webcke and move on. [icon_shru

I'm with Kaz though, I wouldn't exactly say they were firing. They were going ok.

Well we have no forwards coach now so maybe they are being neglected by the coaching staff.. I mean aren't all the coaches at the club half backs???? Henjak, Langer and Green? I reckon it is all an attitude thing no team can be as bad as we have been the last 4 weeks..

Henjak and our entire forward pack. Can add Peter Ryan to that too.

The club needs someone new. Someone without a relationship or ties with anyone there, who can remain unbiased and not have favourites.

One that stands by their statements and actually wield the axe when promised.

Someone that can give them a good, swift kick up the arse and remind them how lucky they are.

I blame Origin - it shouldn't be mid-season [icon_razz1

Origin should be at least played weekends stand alone.
Yup, totally agree. Stand alone or at the end of the season. The comp isn't a fair comp at all, we cop it every year.

It would be nice but it won't be changing anytime soo so Harden up and get on with it people....

Not to worry Bruno has the answer. Build a sh@t side and nobody gets picked for Origin.....problem solved

haha yes the recruitment at the Broncos over the last 3 years has been diabolical TBH..

Steve Michaels! hehehhehe.

Dare I say the new Stu Kelly?

Ok - No way near as bad but he is rapidly becoming public enemy no.1 within Bronco fan's pub debates... but there is a reason why we are not coaches I guess!
