So the Sharks are now on their 12th loss in a row. And have now lost 23 of their last 28 games.

Ahead of them in the NRL are the 2005 Knights with 13, 2008 Cowboys with 13 and the 98/99 West.

How long will the big bosses at the Sharks allow this to continue before heads get knocked?

Are the Sharks worse then the Rabbitohs?

Ricky Stuart, Has he lost it?

They should have merged with Souths or the Dragons many moons ago when they had the chance. Life is only going to get tougher for them as a stand-alone team and the writing could well be on the wall for them methinks...

The question isn't so much when to roll heads, it's whether that'd do any good anyway. Look at their playing roster. It's shit. There's maybe 3 players you'd consider putting in to your own squad - Luke Douglas, Anthony Tupou, Trent Barrett. The rest are also rans.

If they want wins they have to give the players and the coach MORE faith. Because the only way that team is going to win is if they stick together, find a game plan that makes the most of out their meager talent and stick to it.

Then they have a chance to win some games on a regular basis. They won't challenge for the finals, but at this point the best they can hope for is to get a win every 2-3 games.

But all this is relatively minor towards the subject of your post "the Sharks future"...their future beyond 2010 is much much darker than anything on the field. They are financially stuffed, their leagues club is stuffed, they haven't got a full time CEO since they ditched Tony Zappia or whatever his name was.

They have no direction, very little financial future...it's hard to see them surviving on their own.

We can only hope - that would mean I wouldn't need to see the 14 year old Supre clad skanks anymore! Sweet deal if you ask me!

Merge them with Manly move to the Sunshine Coast..

Sunshine Coast Sea Sharks....

Yes the roster is absolute shite but I have to wonder about the selections they make too.

Eg. Luke Covell is no longer the goal kicker at the club - can anyone tell me why he is in First Grade now? Surely one of their under 20's wingers must have an ounce of attacking ability and/or pace and could be given a go ahead of him.

Kick them out and give the few players who are half decent to the Central Coast Bears.

I don't mind the Sharks, but Coxy nailed it earlier on.

Their squad is bloody dire. There is no attacking threat whatsoever, so it's no wonder they keep losing.

It doesn't look good for them.

Yup, that's it in a nutshell, they lack an on field organiser. And a plan.

Not only did they lose De Gois....they replaced him with Corey Hughes!!! Talk about compounding a mistake right there.

Don't let my brother hear you, he'd smash you right there and then, no questions asked. He is a shark fanatic. But yeh, I agree with you, they are the shittiest team in the comp.

They have a fantastic pack; Gallen, Snowden, Douglas, Tupou plus talented guys like Cuthbertson and Millington but just don't have the 7 or 9 as others have said. De Gois was so important for them and I liken them losing him to us losing Priddis neither side really replaced the guy (us mainly due to Ryan's injuries) and neither side has any decent halves to compensate (we had Ikin and Berrigan among others at that point).

That made me laugh.

I know some people love players like Covell but you have to move on and keep with the times as well. I love players like Bowman and DeVere and I have huge respect for them. However if they were playing in today's game they would be under pressure for their positions. Backs are big, fast and skillfull these days - they may lack D and not know how to read defensively but it all comes with experience and they only get better.

You NEED some gun outside backs in today's game. NO DOUBT about that.

The Sharks dont have any.

Ricky Stuart coached teams have always been defense orientated. But now the Sharks can't seem to defend, add to that the terrible attack and you have the makings of a poor team

Their squad isn't as bad as Coxy makes it out to be.

But with that said, he did hit the nail on the head in that they lack creativity with the ball and that extends from their bad spine and crappy centre combination.

They have one of the best packs in the competition and some young and exciting prospects coming through who could be anything.

And who was apparently responsible for the decisions about Kimmorley and de Gois, little Ricky apparently. So some of the blame must rest there. But they have not had a lot of luck with injuries and some of their `stars' (hi greg and buster) playing up and forcing the clubs hand to sack them.

Kimmorley had been average for the Sharks since 2003.

De Gois was the real loss, as well as the injury to Kearney.

Exactly. The future of a football club doesn't depend on wins on the field, it depends on crowds, fans, sponsorships, solid financial backing. Get the fron room right, and the rest will take care of itself.

Look at Souths. Bugger-all onfield success for donkeys years, yet their change in administration in recent years has seen them become one of the stronger and more viable clubs in the competition.
