The Storm Hate Thread [Official]

Stupid storm with their stupid players and their stupid supporters. Some of the excuses I've heard from their supporters when it comes to the rorting...

I really can't wait to see what happens when they face a bit of genuine adversity as a club. Shitty coaching, players etc...

It's why they are more and more desperate to hang onto Bellyache year after year.

Once they lose him, potentially losing Munster to Perth. That club will probably start to become rather mid over time. Bellyache is a singularly gifted coach, you don't simply just replace that.

I mean surely they've seen what happened up here with us and Bennett and started planning accordingly.

Based on Ryles' first season as a head coach, I reckon they will be dreading seeing him leave. He made some big calls and towards the back end, Parra were going as good as anyone.

Paps could end up in that R360 comp too.

In the last three months, the only team that legit beat us, was Parra. Melbourne too but we were decimated with injuries

In 1997 I was 12 and in the absolute throngs of rugby league love.

I got $10 a week in pocket money and $4.50 of that each week would go towards Big League Magazine.

I was footy mad. At Target you could buy footy shorts and I had a pair of super league shorts for each team in the super league. The broncos were always my favourite obviously.

Moving forward into 1999 and my footy obsession hadn't subsided. Every school assignment that I could do about Rugby League, I did. I did an anthology of poems on this topic called “Footballers Fight Frequently” (great alliteration).

I did a mock news article where the front page was all about rugby league related stories including one about an asteroid hitting Sydney and ruining a game of rugby league.

Every week I would go to the newsagent and pick up my copy of Big League.

Dad had a stash of Penthouse Black Label in the shed, so I had no use for a centrefold, I would take the team poster each episode and have it on my bedroom wall.

Every team was represented.

I had other posters of the broncos players specifically, but above my beadhead, every NRL team existed, with the Broncos at the very top.

I can’t remember the specific game or year, but the storm pumped the broncos and Tawera Nikau had a blinder of a game. For so many years I absolutely hated Nikau, but in my heart of hearts I knew he was a great player. After what he has gone through since, I respect him so much.

Anyway, that day the Storm pumped us. For the first and only time, I went into my bedroom and tore up the Melbourne storm team photo.

In a roundabout way, on that day I said, **** these Mebourne C****s and that sentiment still rings true today.

I have hated the storm for as long as they have existed and I cannot wait to stomp them down on the biggest stage of all.

Who cares about our terrible record? Who cares about Maguire record against them? This is a new team with a new will. This is the start of OUR dominant period against them.

At 14 years old or at 39 years old, **** these storm *****. Let’s bring this premiership home.

The tides turned on the storm. I dont fear them like I once did. But I still ****ing hate them.
In a straight up game we can take them... issue is they drag the game into gutter and the ref will typically go there with them, so it's up to the team on whether they go there as well (sharks do it to beat them) or your own game is good enough to beat them (penrith's stock game over the years has typically been good enough to beat them).

A straight up game tomorrow with Payne, Patty, Staggs, etc. breathing fire... I can see us being very physical... we match that with high completions and then Reyno, Walsh and Bhunt play off the back of it.

Come the **** on boys!!!!

Love this. It’s like a Time Machine back to our childhood.
