I hope that centre pairing can have a big game for the Broncos. If Arthars and Niu can establish themselves than it would solve a lot of headaches and allow Farnworth to play on the wing which is his best position.

I'm surprised Ethan Bullemor was omitted from the team. I thought he was amongst the Broncos best last week and had put himself right in the frame for a Round 1 call-up. I don't know if it's a case of giving Te'o a couple of reps while Bullemor plays a full game for one of the feeders, but I would have liked to have seen the entire band together.

Otherwise it's largely what you'd expect to see come Round 1.

How do you see Haas, Paix, and Bullimor squeezing into a full strength line up?

Also I really appreciate your effort on the thread but i bemoan your team list format ;)

It would be excellent if Arthars could seal that left centre spot, but I think Kevvie is committed to Herbie for better or worse. FWIW I want Herbie on the wing, but can see Mead getting the spot unfortunately.

Do you think Bullemor is likely for round 1??

He was easily one of our best in the last trial, but I think him doing a year in ISC would be more beneficial than token 20mins stints off the bench in NRL.

The middle rotation already contains Carrigan, Lodge, Haas, Asiata, TPJ and Flegler.

Give him minutes at lock/prop in ISC and when the inevitable injuries start piling up he'll have miles under his legs and hopefully some confidence built up to rip and tear, and put pressure on Flegler for his spot

Haas is a no-brainer, Paix also gets the first shot at the 14 jersey.

Bullemor is a bolter and I'd have him in the mix with Lodge, Carrigan and Flegler.

I'm always a fan of rewarding players for their season and giving them that opportunity to prove themselves. It also puts the others on notice and allows them to ease into the season.

Too bad. 😁

I'm happy if the mods wish to change it to their structure, but this is the one I use for Round Discussion.

Is there something I can do to accommodate you?

I’d love them lined up side by side possible but I don’t expect anyone to go to that effort. Yeah of course Haas is a no brainer, but where does Haas fit in and who misses out?

Interesting to note that Drinky is at 1 and Homes to the wing, it’s the right thing to do but a big call given the circumstances. The spine already looks more dangerous.

Done.

We'll cross that bridge when we get to it in Round 4.

At this stage I've got a full strength forward pack looking like

8. Patrick Carrigan
9. Jake Turpin
10. Payne Haas
11. Alex Glenn
12. Jordan Riki
13. Tevita Pangai Jr

14. Cory Paix
15. Matt Lodge
16. Tom Flegler
17. John Asiata

However I don't think Kev should pick the team on reputation. If Bullemor is the better candidate at this stage then he should pick him.

nah, i'm too lazy 😛 although round1 will be a different story
We need to expand the like button so I can be sad, amazed, angry but overall accepting.

I agree with everything you've said but I have a gut feeling Oates will be there.

So is Herbie injured?
Had to have surgery on some chest tissue that had been causing him discomfort.

He's set to be right for Round 1.

@Skyblues87 sorry mate I thought I responded to your post earlier. According to NRLPhysio he has a minor hamstring issue and is among a handful of players to be rested from this week's trial for that every reason.

He was at Wynnum last week and said it was coming along well. He wasn't in any discomfort.

I want Bullemor there too but I think you will find Lodge, Niu and Pangai will be it from last weekend.

Are those two years of player options for Lodge and n such an inflated contract going to come back and bite us? If Bullemor and Flegs continue to progress as they seem to be, I honestly don’t see a spot for Lodge moving forward...unless of course TPJ implodes again and is shown the door.

Still can’t get over how much lodge is on, it’s madness.

This will likely always remain a fair possibility with TPJ unfortunately. I see huge potential for him to go the other way and be our Captain one day, but I also think he chooses to walk a fairly thin tightrope and that means he's always at a decent risk of coming unstuck and blowing the whole thing up.

Mead's not terrible:
