I actually can’t. I e never seen him talk on the field and he rarely seems to talk off it, he’d be the silent member of commentary that relies on another organising commentator, a commentator who gives a good call and a slightly better work ethic if he feels like it. None of which he’ll find in the NRL media.
It’d be like the short lived SBW expert commentary experiment.
Said very little and offered even less.

When Gamble first played in the NRL he was a novelty for me. An anti-superstar who has lived his life plugging away in the lower grades. When given the opportunity, his excitement and appreciation for the chance was refreshing, he knew it may only be one game so he embraced it, and revelled in the fact that he was on maybe one tenth of the money some of the other players around him were on, and able to ruffle some feathers and have at least some impact on the result.
My expectations on him being a viable long-term proposition in the NRL have always been very low. In fact they still are. But wow, has he taken his chances and just fucken run with it. He has been helped of course by some of the more talented players around him like Staggs, but in his games this year he has shown far more awareness and smarts than I originally gave him credit for. His raw talent is on par with what you'd expect for a Qld Cup player (which is nothing to scoff at, it's just not elite) but he makes up for it with everything we need in this team now - competitiveness, grit, enthusiasm, and appreciation for the jersey.
So yes, Tyson Gamble, your effors are indeed appreciated.

Gamble always had a pretty serviceable short kicking game in ISC which he’s been increasingly able to demonstrate in first grade but the beat thing about Gamble in recent weeks has been his defensive contribution. Our right edge was once the worst in the league now I feel reasonably confident when opponents go down that right edge. Gamble constantly directing the players on who to mark and where to be. On top of that he’s been putting some great one on one shots on - and his ability to read a play and shut it down with his aggression and enthusiasm has been great for the most part. He was in Ponga’s face all night when they went that way and caused newy to play more direct through the middle (which unfortunately was pretty successful) but you couldn’t ask more from him.
it’s actually lead me to be slightly concerned how the edge will manage with Reynolds in defence. Adam is obviously also great at directing his team mates but south’s do a great job of hiding Adam, while we seemingly completely depend on Gamble to dominate that edge.

When Tyson heard that the King had given him a rap he said it was humbling but at the same time a massive boost to his confidence. This was just before the Newcastle game. His snuffing out of Ponga showed just how much his confidence had grown. With Kevvie Alf and Reynolds coaching his game further and a full preseason under his belt I’d expect an even better 2022 from him. Happy days.

He also seems like a smart defender. I don't remember the exact moment but against the Cowboys, one of the early trys he overslided and got stepped for a try, he didn't overcommit to the slide again so he didn't make the same mistake twice.
It's a small thing but it shows he has a footy IQ
