Yeah yeah I know they play different positions and are 15 years apart. The thing that I saw last night that I have not really seen from ANY Broncos in a long time, especially from the halves is SWAGGER. It's that, I'm here to win, I'm actually better than you and I'm going to show it, I'm going to laugh when you my opposition screws up. All of those qualities were present last night, just like they were present from Hodgo.

The fact that he is also a big body who won't be bullied and the fact that he does this crazy thing called being present and following the ball in support especially in attack was a breath of fresh air. Kevvie may have actually realized that neither Dearden or Croft was going to command his side and that this kid who really isn't a kid will. So for this moment in time, which may be limited, I am going to smile because I saw the first leader since the great Justin Hodges,

I won’t get too excited until he follows it up with a few similar performances but yeah, the guy seems like a real prick - it was great to see.

The first player in our team to show any mongrel in years - other than Flegler on occasion. It was great watching the boys finally fire up and take it personal, which I think was largely attributed to Gamble.

He reminded me of Josh Reynolds at the dogs when they had their run of consistent finals footy and he made the Origin team.

Not as pure grubby play but seemed to enjoy being in the opposition face banter like Reynolds.

Reynolds made up for lack of pure skill through energy and work rate and his team mates thrived from it, I saw that last night.

Lodge, Cardigan, TPJ, Fleg and Bullemore all have big personalities in the middle. With some confidence and direction they will start to play well together.

Fella, I was making this thing called an analogy.

I just tire of the countless comparisons of some young player who has barely even got a taste of first grade being compared to being the next so and so and then getting burned when shock horror they don’t match those unrealistic expectations right off the bat. I prefer to let them develop and find their own identity. It’s bad enough in the media, the fan base can be just as bad. That isn’t a dig at you either.

I completely agree with you @GCBRONCO on that. It's just when your team has sucked balls for the time that we have sucked balls, it was nice to actually see a kid that showed some ticker and swagger instead of looking like they were scared of their own damn shadow.

Dunno about Hodges per se - he wasn't short of skill - but it's what we lost with Reece Walsh. That kid also really backs himself on the field.

Looking forward to seeing Gamble's chutzpah rub off on the rest of the backline, especially Jamayne, who's Jekyll & Hyde out there. And Coates, he needs someone to direct his defence.

Someone else made the point that there’s a bit of a Turpin isn’t McCullough so he’s a god feel about Gamble. Was refreshing to see him try his guts out and enjoy himself but definitely needs to back it up and add some more strings to his bow before we get too excited

Well, I hope no one is thinking he’s a long term option after 1 performance but I think if he can at least play like he did last night, he’ll do for the season.

Everyone was carrying on like Croft was the answer after the panthers game. If he could have kept playing to that mediocre standard he may have been good enough to see out the season but he shit the bed the next week.

If last night is the average Gamble performance he will see out the season but he absolutely isn’t a replacement for a guy like Reynolds.

You’ll like this Broncs, but I actually think Milford on the cheap would make a good partner to Reynolds. It all depends if he can string together enough decent performances this season to show his attitude is improved.

You can just tell he cares about winning and losing. His head doesn’t drop because he’s not a loser. Watching him tell his million dollar 6 where to go on the field all night was glorious. Watching him get in the faces of the opposition when they messed up was great. Watching the team run in and protect him when he was judo thrown into the ground is something we have been lacking. The players gave a shit because he gave a shit.

He’s a Brisbane Bronco.

The shear fact that you used the word chutzpah wins you five gold stars! You are in legend status now @McHunt.
