Ultimate Broncos Grand Final Team

Whoa up young man....that's bull**** !!!!

Those premierships would have been won with or without Lazurus.

Hohn, Allen and Gee would've held there own with a backline like we had.

Nup. Lazo was the catalyst for the premiership. Without him we probably would've had to wait until 1997 and Webcke to emerge to be a threat to a title.

Agreed, Lazo was brought to the club to give the forward pack that much needed punch up front and to teach the younger forwards how things were to be done and we definitely needed him especially with Gee sidelined for much of 1992, prior to him coming to the club the Broncos were considered soft up front even with those you have named fourex, thats exactly why the Broncos brought him to the club and his a large reason why the Broncos would become a real force, they needed the grunt and they got the best in the business to give that to them.

Second rowers this week. My selections were Brad Thorn and Gordon Tallis

Gordon Tallis was a no brainer, but found it pretty hard to pick the second one. Ended up going with Corey Parker as a reward for his long standing service to the club...

I went Tallis and Thorn, simply for contributions to Grand Finals. Thorn was involved in 4 (97, 98, 2000, 2006) so I felt compelled to pick him.

Frustrating that they spelt Gorden Tallis's first name wrong!!

If we're talking purely based on GF performances I'd still stick with Tallis and Thorn but gee Cann comes very close with 92 alone.

Cann's first try in the 1992 Grand Final is probably my favourite ever Grand Final moment, even better than Renouf's try in the same game.

Individually I'll agree though I think his try he scored against the Bulldogs in the qualifying final for the 1993 grand final was superior, but mate I think Renouf's try just sums up how good that Broncos side was, for Willie Carne to get out of there with so many defenders around him then for Langer to shift it to the other side and counter attack through Renouf just shows what a class act they were. If only it was possible to witness a 1992 vs 1998 Broncos game how great would that be, pure class those two sides.

Renouf's try is one of favorite Broncos moments made even more awesome with the classic commentary.

"Carne now big test for Carne ohh there's no test for Carne he's back ino the field of play. That's why he's the number 1 langer away for Renouf, Renouf we haven't seen much of him today, now take a look at him as he crosses the halfway they won't catch him he's heading for the corner and he's over"

Thorn played prop in the 1997 Grand final, Secondrow in 1998, 2000 and 2006 Grand finals and overall was primarily a secondrower for the majority of his career at the Broncos, outstanding player who is still going strong in Union, he and Menzies are absolute tanks still playing today.
