Seibold was perpetually bereft of accountability, making excuse after excuse for every loss. He helmed the club during its worst ever period bar none - although this season isn't much of an improvement. He appeared quite toxic to the culture of the club and the players from the outside looking in and had fired absolutely no shots when it came to dropping his top tier players who were literally the laughing stock of the community (Boyd, Milford etc). Boyd seemed to actively whiteant Seibs, which I'm sure he knew about. He should have dropped him and kept him away from the squad. However as Seibs had no backbone, it never happened. Seibs tried to act all smart but he was so 'clever' that he couldn't make his playing group understand what the hell he wanted. In my opinion though, he was a bit of a scape goat for larger problems the club was (and practically still is) fucked up, top to bottom. Donuts may have secured ARey, but I've yet to see anything resembling a CEO with some balls yet. Nolan still works there FFS. Don't get me wrong, I hardly think Kev is an improvement. I thought his efforts at Maroons level was pretty poor. He took a champion squad and almost bottled the first 2 years even though we should have smashed the blues harder than we did. The second two years were a better reflection for mine of where his coaching was at, sticking with people who were long past it, unable to make tough calls. It seems someone really hammered that last part home hard to Kev about taking the Broncos gig, because he's overcompensating. Bennett is the only decent coach this club has ever had and even I was seeing the writing on the wall, his time is up and he's not our answer. We need a proper long term coach who has some serious creds, NFI who though, but we'd probably need to poach them. Bennett, Bellyache would never have courted Walker the way Seibs did (out of pure arrogance) they would have had a heart to heart with them and they almost always get their men. Robbo is quite the same way. I think Kev would have totally screwed up the Opp with ARey had Donuts not given him some firm direction. I'm hopeful that Donuts is just getting the full lay of the land before instituting major changes at the club because I think they don't have much time to waste, a pre-season to fire and re-hire staff is just not going to cut it in time for our '22 campaign. Accept that this season is over and bring out the torches now. I seriously doubt we've hit rock bottom yet.
