Wayne Bennett - Sack him or not

Yep, sack him now. Despite being an absolutely shit coach and worse human being has somehow managed to fluke his way to 7 premierships. After a shit season his luck has clearly run out and we are in for some dark days. Best to sack him now and try and sign the walker brothers or one of the other amazing coaches sitting around waiting for a call from the broncos

Not to mention the fact that he has won absolutely no games at the Broncos since 2008. He needs to go. Plus his selections are horrible. Still picking Reed?! That's why Hook is jobless. Boyd to six? WTF! The board should be sacked too for allowing his return. We are sooooo boring these days.

I second the aformentioned thoughts with an equal contrived and sarcastic reason based upon little to no evidence stemming from an urge to troll. Best to get it out of the way early than to let it fester. Sack him now before he even has a chance to sit down in his office.

Hiring Wayne Bennett as coach has effectively put the club in a holding pattern for 3 years (his likely retirement). every time he has left a club, that club has gone backwards.

not only that but now we are all going to have to read about people bitching that nothing has changed about our style everyone seems to hate so much. the selections people continue to call a joke from Griffin, will obviously be brilliant once Bennett takes charge.

This club should be moving forward, not backwards. just as it looked like we were able to move on from Bennett (without him we have assembled a good squad for next year), the board throw us backwards. once he leaves it will take us another 6+ years to move on from him again.

what we are doing is sacking a coach and hiring a coach that is finishing worse than the fired coach

Days since each NRL coach has won back to back games...

From article written on Tuesday

Maguire 1 day
Toovey 2 days
Green 3 days
Bellamy 4 days
Cleary 15 days
Bennett 16 days
Hasler 17 days
McFadden 17 days
Griffin 24 days
McGregor 24 days
Shepherd\Sharp 24 days
Arthur 44 days
Robinson 45 days
Potter 99 days
Cartwright 109 days
Stuart 1863 days

As you can see, Bennett is a better coach than Griffin for this time of the season.

Ricky Stuart is also a hopeless coach.

Exactly these points.

I'm not concerned about his ability to coach our side next year.

Just our ability to recover from his inevitible departure in 3 years time (if he sees out this contract).

What about days since a coach has won a game wearing a tie in boardshorts without a halfback?

When I saw this threads name, I almost spat my chocolate Oak everywhere.

Yeah let's sack a coach with around 30 years of experience, 7 premierships + his BRL ones, achieved success with QLD and Australia and is seen by some to be the greatest ever.

Let's do it

Glad you're on board too

Well if he isn't up to the task now then his history doesn't mean shit, I don't care how many premierships he won or how long he has been coach. You're as good as your last season/game and right now he is average.

Well his team just beat the premiers, so....

Because the Roosters are totally the form team of the comp right now. If we are shit with no chance of the finals, then the 'Premiers' who are only 1 win better mustn't be that flash either.

Ok, fair enough.

So to be clear. You are only as good as your last game/season, unless your last game goes against my agenda and in that case that team is currently shit an that's why they were beaten.

You're as good as your last game is something we use only when NSW win a series but lose the last game. That logic is ridiculous by the way.

Griffin had to go but I am not sure if Bennett was the right choice. I believe he can and will win us a Premiership in the next 3 seasons. We have a good squad building. Obviously if we fall to pieces when he leaves it will be a huge issue and that will be the problem IMO. He better have a good succession plan.
