What an embarrassment.

You reckon it can get worse? I'm with Lynx000. This has to be the bottom of the barrell.
I don't know, getting pumped by the rabble that is South Sydney in 2 weeks will shatter any shred of confidence they have left... I hope I'm wrong and they can win a few and get back into form but I reckon were cactus

To be honest when I look back on this year when we were winning, we weren't really dominating or spanking the opposition. The other teams were just scrappy and not playing to form. Now it seems the top teams are hitting their straps and are exposing our weaknesses. All is not well at red hill.

At least in the Griffin era we were in games for 75 minutes.
That's what is killing me... I was sure the heart ache was over, even though we lost the big one last year I thought we at least had some good seasons in front of us and the next few years were something to be excited about... Then they rock up this year and dish this s*** up... It's like f***off not again

Spot on, we've been pretending since round 1

Bennetthas coached the Broncos through a heap of these kind of Origin time slumps. You've just gotta hope they get out of the slump because if they do they are a very good chance of winning the premiership. Injuries on top of the Origin period has really hurt plus the depth is just no there.

Yeah but we used to have Lockyer and hodges to get us going. Who in this squad has what it takes to lead a team out of a slump?

AS much as everyone is down on Hunt and Milford those are 2 guys that are capable of it.

Yeah true but can they do it this year? They are so bloody fragile right now.

They certainly do look mentally beat. Only time will tell if they can do it. They really need a good run with injuries too because the depth isn't there.

Not really. ..apart from 2006 we've barely made a whimper in finals coming out of a slump since 2001. Something needs change. ..maybe Benny just can't cut it any more. ..not with this squad...this one out stuttering crap with no impact players we dish up deserves what it gets. There is no next gear and without it were fucked

I still think we can turn it around, but jesus **** we were awful tonight.

Long time between drinks now hey, it's depressing

We did have 3 big wins leading into the finals that year. From round 24-26 we scored 89 points and conceded 12 so we were going in with form behind us.

When was the last time hunt attacked the blind side? He made a name for himself doing it.

It's hard to put a finger on what the difference between last year and this year is.

Something I have noticed is last year we had a lot of average players playing above their potential. Maranta, Reed, Thaiday and Blair in particular come to mind.
The backs:
With the loss of Hodges as well as Maranta (although he is coming back from injury) and Reed being very average we have lost alot of point scoring ability. Also our depth is really being tested and is failing at the moment. Without Oates and Hodgo it really shows how much we miss a back who can play as an extra forward or scoot making metres out of our end.
It amases me how so many clubs seem to so easily unveil new wingers nearly every year, Vunivalu (or what ever his name is) for example, yet we seem to struggle in that area. It's a real shame we weren't able to see if Opacic was going to be an option for us at centre.

The forwards:
Thaiday was good for us last year in the front row, occasionally he was fantastic standing up to opposition forwards such as Hargreaves. This year he has been average, he comes on does a job and goes off without much impact. His role in the team has decreased. He needs to find that fire he had last year and make every minute out there count. Bennett needs to give him a player whether it be Hargreaves, Bromich etc, and just tell him to destroy them.
Blair has lost his edge since his few suspensions. He needs to get some mongrel back, dominate in tackles, pressure the kickers and ball players that play at the line. We all know he is never going to be the guy to look to to make the big hit up but he does need to get back to where he was when McGuire got injured last year.
Looking back it's really hard to believe have far we went last year without our best front rower, McGuire.

On another note. Last year we were quite lucky with injuries. We built a structure around that team, everyone had a specific role within the team and it worked. This year we have had alot of injuries of late. And in the last few weeks, injuries at the start of the game which is killing us. We have had to make a lot of reshuffles and I think that is really killing us. We aren't coping with the change and new faces. I know that is no excuse, and great teams should be able to cope with this to an extent, especially when we have the majority of our spine in tact still. But its just what I think is the difference between 2015 and 2016.

Thaiday already make is mind the end of this contract he is retired. I think opacic good player. It's bad he got injured. One of problem this year is leadership. End of next year our half team is coming off the contract. God knows what gone happen. One thing Broncos are missing this year is coaching by Kevin Walter.
