Alrighty, first off, how about a pic...

The Bat

SS Ton Laxman 281. Bought it in 2005 for the princely sum of $350 from Kingsgrove Sports. I always wanted something a little different and my Indian mate kept harping on about SS, so i got it. Best purchase ever.

I don't really need a big, meaty bat as i generate enough power with my swing and this bat is perfect for the way i play. The sound it makes when you hit it out of the middle is jizzworthy.

Prior to the SS i had a Kookaburra Sword which snapped in about two weeks, some Gray Nicolls Sabre which started to crack (they were both junior bats), then i got a Slazenger V900 Master Blaster which was my first English Willow bat. Lower grade willow, but it went alright. Hit my first six with it!

The Pads
Puma Stealth 4000. IMO Puma make the best pads. These things are awfully comfy and do what a pads meant to do. Before these bad boys, i owned some V900 pads which were also fantastic, but i outgrew them. I've found that batting pads tend to last forever if you take care of them.

The Gloves
Puma Kinetic 4000. Puma also make the best gloves as well IMO. These are about my fourth or fifth pair of Puma's, and they are the comfiest i have ever worn! Like Silence, my hands get pretty sweaty in gloves so i tend to go through them pretty quickly. Over the last few years though, i've started using inners which has helped extend the life of my gloves. I do prefer batting without inners, but have gotten used to it now.

So that's mainly it.

I have an Albion helmet which i had to get for my final season of juniors (they brought in some rule which made them compulsory). Hardly wear it these days, in fact i can't remember when i last wore it. I'll back myself everyday of the week against the short ball.

Everything is Grey Nicholls except the bag, and the only reason that isn't Grey Nicholls is because they didn't have any big enough the day I went in to get one.

I even found all my old club hats in my cupboard at Mum's.

You know what Clint Eastwood, we both went to the trouble of taking pictures of our kits and young Silence (the thread starter), hasn't even bothered replying with praise of how awesome said kits are.

Disappointing to say the least.

Well, I don't own any bats, or cricket equipment - because I don't play cricket and never have.

But, when I was young and obsessed with Steve Waugh, I used to go into the sports stores and check out the Gun and Maestro bats that he used to endorse. I loved them!! And I had heaps of the posters on my walls. Even the old Symonds bats he used before the G & M. Anyway, I asked for one for Christmas one year but instead got a cheap $20 K-Mart set instead (I'm assuming because I didn't play cricket, my parents didn't see the point in buying a 13 year old girl and $120 cricket bat). My disappointment was probably pretty obvious because my Dad was very quick to point out that I not only got a new bat - but the whole set as well.

I cried.

Mr BB on the other hand, does play cricket and loves his AB bat that he bought a billion years ago that he won't get rid of, and and old SS bat that he reckons is awesome.

No idea why I entered into this thread really.
