Now that it's confirmed that Mitchell Dodds has suffered an ACL tear and will miss the rest of the season, who should come into the team and why?

While I'd like to throw in names like Arrow, Greinke and Adams, I believe the best course of action is to cut Joe's time with the Jet's short and go with a bench of...

14. Jarrod Wallace
15. Mitch Garbutt
16. Joe Ofahengaue
17. Kodi Nikorima

I think Molo should be one and done.

If Molo can't offer more than 7mins of usefulness he has no place.

I'm going to say Adams because he seems like he's more suited to having a 15min spell and his offloads may have an impact that you want from that kind of sub.

Joe can keep developing where he is because Glenn is back soon so whoever it is won't be in the team for long.

It was quoted as a 4-6 week injury and it will have been 5 weeks by the time we play our round 11 game.

So it's likely two games, three at most that we will be without him.

Might not be soon as in he might be back next week soon, but if WB wants to evaluate some of our players than this seems like the perfect chance to do that.

Plus with Origin coming up might not be bad to see who might deserve some bigger mins when we lose our pack.

The likes of Garbutt will really have to lift their games now in Dodds absence. Our depth in the front row is suddenly looking a bit thin.

Where the hell is Gavet?

Injured his ACL in training.

Out for the season.

Joe could find his way in but as i have heard from guys like huge rod griffin could do a job for us. I watched a game last year and he played 80mins and was very strong. He is not very big but in the moose vain big heart big engine. So does anyone else see him getting a spot

Does Rod Griffin even have a contract with the Broncos? All I've heard is that he was given a pre-season trial, but haven't heard anything since.

Exactly this until Glenn comes back.

When Glenn returns from injury Thaiday drops back to the bench and Offa goes back to the ISC to continue his development in preperation for a full time bench spot next season.

And just on Offa, his time in the NYC should be over, IMO, I don't think it offers him any value anymore. He needs to be playing ISC when not required for NRL duty. It would be better for his development IMO.

Garbutt ...

.... i wanna see Wayne transform him into a huge barnstorming line breaker !!

Garbutt lost the ball in his first run in the second half of the residents game. He was carrying it one handed and very loose. Put a good step on though ;)

I still think he'll make a good player but he needs to stop this recent trend of dropping the ball.

Looks lazy around the middle in defence and his trick shot, one handed carry and big man side step attack is low percentage, QCUP superstar specialist stuff IMO.

Not what you need from your 10-20 minute gap filler prop. Getting back to A defender slower than McGuire, Blair, McCullough, Parker and Thaiday who'll go onto play 60-80 minutes. Gavet was the same.

I think we would be better served by J.Ofahengaue.

Youger, lighter, fitter - better fits out current gameplan.

14. Kodi Nikorima
15. Gillett (Garbutt)
16. Wallace
17. J.Ofenhengaue

Or we shift Oates into the second row rotation if we have an excess of centres and wings - Kahu, Boyd, Hodges all fit. Means we can find a spot for both Vidot and Maranta or Reed over Garbutt.

We need Garbutt to lift up his socks now Dodds is out. Also if Stagg or Lowrie are playing ok in the QLD cup they should get a run on the bench whilst Glenn is out unless Oates goes back to the second row which I wouldn't be against. They know what it takes to get it done. Joe O will get a shot at origin time. Bennett wont be in a huge rush to get him back to first grade. He will develop him like he has with every other front rower he has produced. Its a slow procedure for the player but it has big rewards at the back end because rarely does he put time and effort into blokes who flop. He turned Weyman into a test player ffs.

He does play ISC now. Plan was always back to NYC for three weeks then ISC for three weeks so he's ready for the load up around Origin time.

So I guess that means he won't be selected this week for first grade.
