I remember watching that. He practically destroyed Mackay single handedly.

The try he scored was sensational, one of the best tries I've seen a second row score.

Gets the ball 20m, bumps off one guy, steps past two as if they're witches hats, gets in between two defenders and plants the ball down - perfect exhibition of mobility and strength, awesome.

He was also one of our best players in our 2008 Toyota Cup campaign.

I'll back Big Pete up with his praises. I have been a massive fan of Watene since he played in our 2008 NYC team. Hopefully he can step up because he definitely has potential and can goal kick.
