Everyone on here loves naming teams so we may as well have one for the Anzac Test.

Tim Sheens is apparently putting a broom through the older players to make room for Robbie Farah and probably Luke Brooks as well. I feel like there's going to be a lot of weird selections this year.

Has anyone made themselves unavailable for it?

1. Greg Inglis
2. Alex Johnston
3. Dylan Walker
4. Michael Jennings
5. Daniel Tupou
6. Johnathan Thurston
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Matt Scott
9. Cameron Smith
10. Paul Gallen
11. Greg Bird
12. Ryan Hoffman
13. Corey Parker

14. Daly Cherry-Evans
15. Sam Thaiday
15. Aaron Woods
16. David Klemmer

Something like that I guess

How I think it should be
1 Greg Inglis
2 Alex Johnston
3 Dane Gagai
4 Michael Jennings
5 Will Chambers
6 Jonathan Thurston
7 Cooper Cronk
8 Matt Scott
9 Cameron Smith
10 Nate Myles
11 Ryan Hoffman
12 Sam Thaiday
13 Corey Parker
14 Ben Hunt
15 Josh McGuire
16 Aaron Woods
17 Chris Grevsmuhl
18 Gavin Cooper

How it probably will be
1 Greg Inglis
2 Alex Johnston
3 Josh Dugan
4 Michael Jennings
5 Daniel Tupou
6 Jonathan Thurston
7 Cooper Cronk
8 Matt Scott
9 Cameron Smith
10 Aaron Woods
11 Greg Bird
12 Sam Thaiday
13 Paul Gallen
14 Ben Hunt
15 James Tamou
16 David Klemmer
17 Corey Parker
18 Luke Brooks/Robbie Farah

1. Greg Inglis
2. Daniel Tupou
3. Michael Jennings
4. Dylan Walker
5. Alex Johnston
6. Johnathan Thurston
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Matt Scott
9. Cam Smith (c)
10. Aaron Woods
11. Boyd Cordner
12. Luke Lewis
13. Corey Parker

14. James Segeyaro
15. Andrew Fifita
16. Sam Thaiday
17. Trent Merrin

With Billy Slater out, Greg Inglis slots into fullback. I actually pondered whether it'd be an idea to go with a Matt Moylan, Josh Dugan or James Tedesco but given the context of everything, I'm willing to stick with GI.

I'm not really happy with the wing options but they're the best available with Brett Morris and Josh Mansour out of action. Only other player I considered was Sione Mata'utia and to be honest, I could live with him being selected over Johnston but went with Alex because Sione's form hasn't been as good.

The forward pack was the most difficult to assemble.

A couple of points I wanted to make...

No Paul Gallen - Because I'm unsure if he's available. If he is then he'll get the lock spot with Parker playing infront of Merrin.

No Greg Bird - You don't deserve Australian selection when you've got pending criminal charges

No Ryan Hoffman - I haven't forgiven him for his performance at Suncorp Stadium in the Four Nations.

Scott and Woods are among the form front row of the competition. Lewis has been a crucial member of the Kangaroos side for a long while and should be one of the first picked. Cordner is a curious selection, but I can't think of too many left fringe backrows other than Bird and Hoffman and I'm of the opinion that Thaiday is better utilised on the bench with Lewis swapping over.

Also played around with the bench. Not a fan of utilities unless they provide genuine impact which Segeyaro does. I consider Fifita a better version of Klemmer, so I'm going out on a limb to bring him in. Thaiday has been a revelation off the bench and has earned himself one last Test jersey while Merrin's form has been the catalyst behind St George and he's been playing better than Papalii.

Has Norman pledged allegiance to NZ? I was unaware of that, interesting.

Heres what im thinking

1. Billy Slater
2. Dane Gagai
3. Greg Inglis
4. Michael Jennings
5. Josh Dugan
6. Jonathon Thurston
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Matt Scott
9. Cameron Smith

11. Greg Bird
12. Ryan Hoffman
13. Corey Parker

14. Aaron Woods
15. James Tamou
16. Sam Thaiday
17. Luke Lewis

Slater is named this weekend and only needs to get thru the game to be picked. I don't think they will pick Hodges either and Dugan and Gagai would be smokeys for the wing. Gallen will play prop with Scott starting and Tamou and Woods for the bench. Lewis will be the utility.

Slater isnt named. NRL.com made a mistake which has been corrected

Inglis to fullback and Gagai / Chambers to centre maybe? Johnston on the wing

International rugby league calls itself a credible representative match but has Klemmer and Sione Mata'utia in its ranks.

Inglis to fullback and walker to the centres then

Are we sure Sheens wont pick Pat Richards? I can see it happening!

Not a fan of Gagai playing, but the other options aren't any better.

Is it wrong I'd be cool with that?

As long as he got to kick off and take a shot at field goal, it would be worth the price of admission. Plus, Daniel Tupou and Alex Johnston aren't exactly bringing that much to the table.

Yeah, I could think of worse things than Pat Richards, given the available players...

For left wing, the only options that should be considered are Morris or Richards.
