So he needs to learn how to pass...but he shouldn't trial at fullback where one of the key ingredients these days...is to learn how to pass...makes sense to you?
I think he can pass, but he needs to learn how to put the opposition in two minds by making them think he might pass. He could use a convincing dummy. Prove me wrong.

It would be more beneficial for the team if he practiced the position he's realistically going to play for us. But as others have said, if the coach as promised him a shot there as an incentive to signing then that promise needs to be respected.

We all know the position is Walsh's. We would want to hope so, otherwise the 2023 team is potentially weaker than the one that got flogged at the back end of last season.

In fairness to Brenko, he is a solid player and has an experienced head. Played reps. Unsure if a "star" though.
It's what's called "mere puffery." Nothing wrong with making fans feel good about their team. All our players are "stars." Just like every woman who's been filmed with a **** up her arse is a "porn star."

Not necessarily. If Mam for some reason doesn't kick on as a player, suddenly Walsh is in the frame to be shifted to 6, and guess who will be getting first crack at fullback

Jeez Capewell is gonna have a lot of baby sitting to do if Walsh plays 5 / 8 .
He `s a turnstile . Have you watched him play / tackle ?

ATM there are no top shelf hookers available? If we wanted a hooker we should have went after BSmith.

B.Smith, I think, and I may well end up with egg over my face, is not a great hooker. A very competitive player for sure but not a great hooker and is overpaid for what he offers. We should have (and maybe did) go for Api, he is the clear number 2 hooker in the game behind Grant and has made every team he has been part of contenders / better. He is also at a good age to mentor Mozer but he may well not have wanted to leave Sydney.

I still think Paix is going to turn into a pretty good hooker.

This would be when Arey is finished, time to develop that.

Paix lacks defence, he has the attack but really hasn't kicked on.

I feel Bsmith wasn't used at his best at storm, we all saw what he could do in 2021, although starting the season after Grant had won the Hok spot knowing he was moving into the middle it took a few games to get to his best. We need a running hok who can play off the back of Haas/Carrigan/Fleg offloads.

I feel long term, the plan would be Mam and Walsh 6 and 7 and Cobbo FLB. Herbie is a centre or even better a winger with his runs. Staggs needs to impress otherwise he isn't worth the money we are paying.
Ideally we wouldn’t have bet the farm on Staggs and would have moved Herbie to play on the right.

Talking about staggs, if we end up short in the middle, I move Patty to prop and play staggs at 13.

Unless Mam or Walsh completely change the way they play, this is going to end the same way the Milford/Nikorima combo did. They’re both 6’s at best.

Yep , I was not impressed by his late season form .
He wasn`t 1st grade standard any more than Tesi was ... But ,,, he kept getting picked ??
He had a busted shoulder I reckon but he pushed on. Basically, towards the end of season, our 2 back rowers played with 1 arm each which coincided with garbage defense & blowout scores to the opposition’s.

Why?

It might have worked in the 20's and the lower grades, he'll be picked apart in first grade.
