I didn't believe my old man when he told me about this. If it were two of the rank and file I would be like whatever, but the skipper and his heir apparent? They both should know fucking better, especially weeks out from Round 1.

The club better be getting them in a room and sorting this crap out and fast.

I don't reckon there is a drink problem as such, but there are certainly some who don't know when to knock it on the head. I'd be pretty dissapointed if Carrigan and a few others don't voluntarily stop drinking instead of being pushed into it.

It’s 2024 folks, not the 1990’s. Can’t be doing that stuff in public let alone if you’re the leaders of a sporting club.

Looks like they were play fighting beforehand which then turned into rumbo rage.

If Payne got suspended for getting upset at someone stepping on his shoes, you know these two are sitting out two weeks.

They didn't throw a punch. No punches were given

And Haas’ shoes were going to be just fine also, and yet…

It’s a dumb look from our two leaders. Even if Rey was trying to put him into a cab, maybe doing that an hour earlier was the smarter idea.

There's always two different types of people when it comes to these things. There are those who don't have an aggressive bone in their body and simply couldn't imagine doing this with a random let alone a mate and just can't understand it.

Then there's those who have a bit of mongrel (not criminal's but don't mind getting rough) who look at this and dont give two shits cause they've done it themselves before. Unfortunately 90% of blokes who play NRL would fall into this category hence why this kind of thing happens a bit.

I can understand both perspectives.

Regardless of who you are it is dissapointing seeing this from the captain and "future" captain just weeks out from the season. You just hope there is no underlying issue between them and they can get there shit together on the field.

Does it deserve punishment? If not only for public perception to show the club dont endorse that behaviour yes some form of fine from the broncos will suffice. That and a mouthfull from broncos coahes at training tomorrow and move on from it.

Also a mouthfull for those who were with them for not extinguishing the situation earlier and a little speach about teamwork might close it out perfectly.

Pre Christmas leave tradition in my regiment back in my army days, open bar in the NAAFI, followed by a 30 minutes, no questions asked, no recriminations free for all. Junior ranks, senior NCOs and officers.

A good way to let go of shit, and move forward.

At the end of the day, we still had each others backs. I’m sure these lads will be ok.

I don't believe so either. I remember Capewell on radio last year saying that a good portion of the squad don't drink at all.
