I don’t understand the logic from some comments about needing structure in Origin. You need structure from your 7 which we have by the truck load in DCE. You need instinct, unpredictability and an amazing running game in 6 which no QLD 6 can currently match milf in. Munster and Morgan try to much to organise which doesn’t complement DCE. In them I see a full back and centre.

We need someone to stand up to Mitchell. I've said we should just shift Inglis to the right edge in order to do that.. Probs won't get done.

If Gagai or Chambers are in the centres again then we'll get run over out wide.. again..

I've been wondering more and more about how Ponga would go as a centre / how he would go against Mitchell.

Milford definitely isn't our best option at 6. He has a pea heart. Good NRL player but when it comes to the qualities you need in origin, I don't back him.

I was annoyed when Matt Scott got overlooked last year, I hope he gets picked this year.

My side would not be conventional

1. Cameron Munster
2. Corey Oates
3. Greg Inglis
4. Kalyn Ponga
5. Kyle Feldt
6. Michael Morgan
7. Daley Cherry Evans
8. Matthew Scott
9. Jake Friend
10. Dylan Napa
11. Rhyse Martin
12. Coen Hess
13. Jai Arrow

Dunno, something like that.

Milf has a pea heart? What a steaming pile of crap that comment is. Pea hearts don't play with a stuffed shoulder for as long as he did. Clueless doesn't even begin to explain that comment.

I think sometimes people say some things about players that go way too far. . Think of the worst first grader you can think of and I guarante the base level of toughness they exhibit is off the chart. These players are humans not machines. There's no algorithm they have to put it all together themselves.

Milford had a great development year last year. He really improved weaker areas of his game. Hess for cowboys similar in that he started playing big minutes but was criticised for less impact. I expect both to have big seasons.

Kane Elgey was rated highly too. I wonder how he'll go playing next to DCE.

Hasler was pretty good at turning the young guys into stars. (Hodkinson, DCE, Foran)

If Elgey stayed at Titans they could have had a few QLDers in the spine

1. AJ Brimson
6. Kane Elgey
7. Ash Taylor

Out of the three I'd be backing Brimson to fulfill potential
I really rate elgey. I think he will go alright about halfway through the season

Finally a post with some depth of vision

Our greatest run coincided with lockyer/jt/cronk in the halves. Capable of off-the-cuff, but also knowing how to manage a game. That's what we mean by structure. Milf is getting better, but still isn't anywhere near that level of game management. He can't just try and run through everyone as his main go-to, that's what I mean when I say he's a Barba-esque player.

I’m not sure he has a pea heart, it’s the pea brain that I worry about.

That game with him and Papalii out on the left edge was woeful. Awesome on paper, but so bad in reality.

So again, I've seen Kev criticised for picking players pushed by the media, but I've yet to see any examples.

Ponga was almost certainly picked because of the media hype around him. I don't think it's a good example though, because it worked out for Kev, Ponga & QLD. But I mean there's definitely an argument to be made that Kev picked him for Game 2 because of the pressure from the media and not because Kev thought he was the best man to play utility for QLD in a series deciding match.

This would be my team for next season personally, a lot can change though, as we all know. I'm expecting Morgan & Hess to be back to their best next season without the JT circus. I'm also expecting Cooper to fall off a cliff without JT there, same deal with Kaufusi, I think he'll be well down the pecking order this year.

My biggest smokey that I won't name, but think he's a chance, is Nene Macdonald, he could comfortably be the right centre / winger for Origin 1 with Ponga relegated to the bench utility if he performs as well as I think he will at the Cowboys.

1. Munster
2. Oates
3. Inglis (c)
4. Ponga
5. Gagai
6. Morgan
7. Cherry-Evans
8. McGuire
9. McCullough
10. Papalii
11. Hess
12. Gillett
13. Arrow

14. Brimson
15. Napa
16. Ofahengaue
17. Su'A

Can you back that up with logical reasoning?

Of course he cant. Its just something he read somewhere. A bit like how he forms his opinions on our up and coming players. Never watches them, just jumps on whichever player is in the spotlight that week.
