The Blues wanted an explanation on the following calls from Klein in the series opener, according to the SMH.

- Kurt Capewell leaving marker early to put pressure on a Cleary kick.

- Patrick Carrigan tackling Cleary late after kick in the second half.

- Kalyn Ponga earning his side a seven-tackle set despite leaping from the field of play and into the in-goal to catch a Nathan Cleary kick.

- A penalty for Selwyn Cobbo being over the sideline when referee Ashley Klein called held despite momentum appearing to never stop.

- Lindsay Collins holding back Junior Paulo in the scrum before Daly Cherry-Evans scores.

NRL referees boss Jared Maxwell - who Blues coach Brad Fittler spoke to about his concerns before game one - had no hesitation in appointing Klein for game two.

This is such a load of shit, from the blues and fitler lol, anything to get the spotlight of there shocking team selection and bad performance. The first 3 have probably happened that many times in origin and happens to both sides. All ill say for the for the collins one is, if Paulo wanted to get to the gap to close DCE down bad enough he would have, collins barely had a hold of him

Imagine if we pulled apart a Penrith game with as much scrutiny. I'd beat my own record for post length.

I had to laugh about to things.

firstly that the big complaint has been the speed of the rick from game one (which was significantly faster than an NRL game)

secondly that Fittler reportedly thinks Grant Atkins is the best ref in the game, lol

Yep and deflecting attention away from their deficiencies in game 1.
Yep... no comments at all that his team was, at the very least, "out-enthused".

If your team is getting dominated on both sides of the ruck, then they didnt turn up... how do you coach an origin side that doesnt turn up.

But of course it wasnt QLD being better and more up for the game, "they must've been cheating".

So, if a coach complains about the ref and his decisions in a post game conference, they get fined. But fitler can complain to the ref boss and leak the meeting and its contents and it is ok?

**** fitler and his victim mentality. As if every other team (club or origin) could not do this (point to each area where they did not get a decision their way) in every fucking game played.

- Kurt Capewell leaving marker early to put pressure on a Cleary kick.

That's fair it's a ticky tack call but Capewell never looked square and may have gone a fraction of a second before the ball is played. He does stutter on his step so that may have cleared him.

- Patrick Carrigan tackling Cleary late after kick in the second half.

Nothing in it.

- Kalyn Ponga earning his side a seven-tackle set despite leaping from the field of play and into the in-goal to catch a Nathan Cleary kick.

It looks like he gets his left foot to the goal-line just before the ball arrives but you'd have to freeze frame it.

Also nothing said about RCG's dangerous tackle on Cobbo the play after.

- Lindsay Collins holding back Junior Paulo in the scrum before Daly Cherry-Evans scores.

In the words of Grant Atkins.

"It was only a touch".

I didn't really see an effort from Paulo to break out of the scrum early. It didn't seem like a deliberate play like the infamous Thaiday example where Thaiday breaks but is clearly being held onto by the referee. Maybe he should take acting lessons from Tedesco who milked the 'tackle off the ball' from Papalii.

- A penalty for Selwyn Cobbo being over the sideline when referee Ashley Klein called held despite momentum appearing to never stop.

No drama, the referee is entitled to call held when the carrier's momentum is halted at anytime. It's a discretionary call and he gave them plenty of time. Would Cobbo have received more assistance from his team mates? Would he have fought more to find the line had he known?

If NSW can't win this, surely Fittler's job is in doubt

Bit off topic, but i was having a bit of a debate today with a grubby blue and i was certain before a state of origin game former Storm grub Brett White was giving a few verbals to Petero in the press and they he pretty much got knocked out when he tried to tackle Petero, or at least he was very groggy after it. Did i imagine this or did it happen, i'm certain it did but i cant find anything to back it up.

It makes me appreciate Kevvie a bit more, knowing he doesn't come out blaming the officiating after a close loss

He looks like such a sook the way he has moaned about the ruck
Man, I hate this outlook. I just want to be reffed fairly and the teams on the field to decide who wins games. Not the dork in the middle with a whistle trying to make himself famous by dictating advantages to certain teams.
