With Brisbane losing tryscoring ace David Mead (Catalan Dragons) last week

He has scored 15 tries in the past 3 seasons.

Oates scored that many in 2017. Roberts scored 18...

It would be absolutely great but I can’t see it happening but if he did sign great replacement for Oates on the wing.

He is contracted to Huddersfield for 2018 - but the two clubs could work out a transfer deal or player swap.

Player swap? Is there anyone else on our books who we'd like to get rid of, maybe kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

I say this every off-season and eat my words eventually, but are we sure that Alex Glenn is going to be a great player for the next 2 years? He's probably marginally past his prime right now, and if Oates wants to move on to the left edge, with Su'A & Fifita coming through we're seriously going to have far too many backrowers for the next couple of years.

1. Boyd (c)
2. McGillvary
3. Roberts
4. Bird
5. Kahu
6. Milford
7. Nikorima
8. Lodge
9. McCullough
10. Ofahengaue
11. Oates
12. Gillett
13. McGuire

14. Pangai Jr
15. Tagatese
16. Sims
17. Thaiday

It makes sense.

I'm with you re: replacing the dead wood in our team for the younger generation coming through.
For me though, I would keep Glenn for another 1-2 years depending how he plays. I would also put Korbin on notice. Thaiday departing and Tagatese are both expected to be finished up at the end of next year which would allow the likes of George Fai, Myles Taueli, Payne Hass and David Fifita to make a case to be part of the 17.

The guy is almost thirty. I think he'd find it tougher in the NRL than some diluted World Cup. No way that this will be happening.

wasn't there even a video of this bloke on the Broncos website at one stage where he said that he was told by Bennett he was too old to transition to the NRL... (could be wrong though, but i recall seeing something along these lines said by him)

He made the most metres out of any player in the world cup... even over any Australian player

Thats true but this has not stopped players/coaches before.
E.g. Jarryd Hayne, Mitchell Pearce, Gus Gould and Matt Moylan.

If Bennett told him he is too old to transition to the NRL then McGillvary may still end up here ... but wont be here, as unlike Hayne and Gould, when Bennett says something, he very rarely goes against that. (and especially not for a 30 year old winger)

McGillvary isn't a flashy winger. Age isn't hindering him yet. He would be a great temporay replacement for Oates because we need someone to make those metres he makes from our half. He isn't a fullback or a half coming here with all of the pressure English players have. He's a hard running winger who can catch and run. It's all he would need to do for the next year or two until we can sign Radradra

McGillvary is strong and fast. His carries out of England's own end were highly impressive. Busted the first tackle on almost every occasion.

In that video interview on McGivallry he said he owes his career resurrection to Bennett because he believed in him. So how do you know he won't come for unders to try and prove himself in the nrl
