I thought the NRL did a really good job with the pre-match entertainment tonight. Usually it's just 'Foggy' yelling, "if you're a Broncos supporter, let me hear you scream", blah blah blah, but tonight, I thought the NRL announcer was pretty good.

Plus, they actually had cheerleaders who could CHEERLEAD. Also, I loved it when they showed video highlights of awesome tries and biggest hits of the year.

So, kudos to the NRL. I thought it was entertaining. icon_thumbs_u

Personally i thought it wasn't anything special... but one thing i noticed was the difference between our cheerleaders... i always thought they we're average looking orange girls who really cant dance (they still are) but holy crap the flames we're nothing special and one of them looked about 40... no joke!

I agree with Kris - those 2 school cheerleading teams they had were pretty good.

Too right - the "flames" were cod ordinary

Our cheerleaders are alright cause they get a bit fired up, and they looked fine compared to those old leathery hags

Certainly didn't miss much - it was them who went up against our cheerleaders - they went by our section and got booed - how funny is that

For a code supposedly concerned about it's image, violence against women and the way players/code treats women, the way they persist in having scantily clad women prance around the ground is laughable.

But cheerleaders are a part of football - they girls are paid and seem to enjoy their jobs - do you really have something against cheerleaders - I know a lot of girls who love the cheerleaders and enjoy cheering them on

I don't know how well you could dance in a habit anyway

I don't particularly have a problem with cheerleaders I just think the hypocrisy is striking.

Whilst I like pretty girls in tight clothes, I've always thought Cheerleaders were a waste of time and space at the footy. Mascots are alright for the kiddies, cheerleaders are just some American tradition brought into league.

But as I said, a lot of girls like the cheerleaders

Mascots for the kids
Football for the guys and girls
Cheerleaders for the guys and girls

Plus, its a way for girls to be a part of the team, in this male only sport

If the football is for both guys and girls then girls are already a part of the sport, aren't they? It's just my opinion, but I don't think they're needed.

When I go to the footy it's to watch footy. If I wanted to stare at a bunch of slappers wearing sfa I would stay home at watch porn.
