Teams are in.

It sounds like we can expect further changes with Isaah Yeo and Bryce Cartwright reportedly being ruled out only moments after the announcement.

Despite the loss of Cleary, Fisher-Harris and potentially Yeo the Maundy Thursday game still shapes as a big litmus test for both sides. Despite winning three consecutive grand finals, Penrith look as strong as ever, meanwhile the Roosters are playing the style of footy most expected of them last year.

It's just a matter of consistensy and whether they can sustain that style against a quality side like the Panthers. They were impressive in Round 1 against the Broncos, but it was in LA and they had the benefit of Piakura going down early so bit of an anamoly. Then they were completely out-played by Manly and were lucky not to have lost by more.

They put South Sydney to the sword last week, but Souths are struggling big time and they smelled blood in the water a game that was easy to get up for - can they do it against a team that thrives on making their opposition uncomfortable?

I'd be concerned if they struggled. This should be a comfortable victory and while I wouldn't put them down for a 30+ score, if this isn't the type of game where they lead by the 20th and hold it through the duration I'd have those reservations about them being able to get it done in the post-season.

On the other hand, Penrith's depth has been remarkable over the years and even without their best players, they seem so secure in their structures that it hardly makes a difference. This will be tested early and it'll be a good opportunity to see how their players handle the occasion. I'd be worried if they roll over, especially with the Sea Eagles on the horizon. They'll get an opportunity to regroup after the bye against the Tigers but then they have to make the road-trip to Townsville.

Penrith have suffered back to back losses in 2021 and 2023, but if those losses start stacking up it will knock them down a peg and open up the competition.

Good game first up. Rorters in with a good chance to finally beat the Panthers.

Those pink shirts are kaka. We go pink and I am boycotting the game

Is The Chin really that big of an out when Keary is playing like Jeff Robson?

Collins and Fisher pretty much cancel eachother out both being missing.

Gummon pamfers. Crush these Sombrero mfers

Penrith have won 12/15 recent games without him. I’m still on them.

I don't normally support the Roosters, but come on Roosters let's beat these arrogant panthers💪💪

Luai has definitely shown he can stand up when Nathaniel isn't there, both at the Panthers and with Samoa.

Will be interesting to see Galvin and Luai pairing next season at Ligers.

Man Penrith are so good in defense.

Missed the first 5 minutes, had an epic poo.

Roosters D line is labored
