This is what is exciting with Madden at halfback if he continues to progress as he is. Once him, Mam and Walsh gel, you have speed in your spine. Add to that Mozer is quick too, our potential spine would be a nightmare for oppositions with the running game alone. Then with guys like Haas, Piakura, Riki, Xman, Cobbo and Mariner, you have speed just about everywhere. We can punch through the middle or side to side, either way we do it, we are going to be tiring teams out.
thing i like about madden is he seems to be able to get his 2nd rowers running good lines near put riki away and put piakura over,id be loading up next week on either of those two for first try scorer/anytime try scorer

Hmm, in the end Darius looked like he was there for the paycheque. The baby gender reveal after spooning told me everything about his priorities. He was there to see out his contract, his body was shot and he should have retired 1-2 seasons earlier but for whatever reason was encouraged to stay and it destroyed his legacy.

I'm pretty sure what you are saying wasnt the case. He was in excellent form, we upgraded his contract stupidly though when he got injured and he seemed to break down after that. He bascially stayed on though as somebody said before because the young blokes needed some experience around the club.

I've always said this, but what should speak volumes is while people on here for bagging him for his effort, his team mates werent and still loved the bloke and still do. Players who arent putting in dont get the backing of their team mates.

Dont really get the drama with the baby reveal. He was leaving and simply wanted to share something with his team mates.

"one of the softest ever" penalties after Manly were awarded this last week
Touche my man. When we look at this and compare it to the Mariner one, the Mariner one deserved a send off and 8 weeks suspension.

What has become of our marvelous game?

Manly must be on the ref's tip sheet - as in - make sure Manly get the rub of the green.

He’s the most unlikeable coach I’ve ever seen. He just has no clue about how he comes across. I’m so glad we got rid of him and never employed Big Ears as head coach, both just so unlikeable.
We got the right man in the end. I hope Kevvie goes on to coach the club for years like Ricky has done with Canberra. I think Kevvie will have more succes though.

I gotta say, watching the replay, Madden was controlling that game beautifully. Feeling alright having him as out anointed halfback, looks ready to explode.
I thought his kicking game looked really comfortable last night... can only recall one 'bad' kick which Paulo caught on the full, but he had a really nice kick into the 10m corner with some backspin and stayed infield... absolute elite kick that was.

His torps early in the game had them scrambling... I think he went away from that too early though, Koula dropped his first one and is a make shift full back so he should've been copping them all night. We didn't have great field position though.

People that are going hard on our attack.

Walsh trained at 1 until Thursday, so Cobbo only found out he was even playing 1 on Thursday arvo. Jock's been back 1 week as well.

Add to that, no good ball and a stack of quality line defending defence all first half. (Manly with 65% possession). I think keeping them out absolutely drained our tanks.

Some dumb drop ball, absolutely. Just don't think thats the sort of game/circumstance to really deep our 'poor' attack too much considering the circumstances.

This is exactly right. The media have hyped him up like they did paix, niu, dearden etc. It's kids hard to watch him play half a pace slower than the rest of the league.
Is the issue that the media hyped him up? Or are you mad because you fell for the hype?
