Justin Hodges best year?

His definitely a player who seems to bring us that aura of confidence when his playing in this side for us, its just the little things he does be it looking for dummy half runs or looking to be brutal in defence, it seems to just happen at the right time for us, it's hard to say if its been his best season at the Broncos, but so far I would say its the best I have seen him in ages, particularly fitness/agility wise.

Sorry mate, meant from all the seasons he's played in.

Great post though

2006 with little doubt.

Even when we were at our worst, Hodges was pulling off special plays that gave us the faintest bit of hope. Without his amazing kick return, I doubt we're talking about premiership number six. I still remember one particular try he scored against the Warriors in R26 of that year where he literally beat the defence by standing still. It was some Bruce Lee type foot-work and one of the greatest runs of form I've seen from a player, period.

Yeah his 2006 would probably be his peak year at the Broncos.

2006 was a peak year for a bunch of our players. Hodges, Berrigan, Lockyer (at 5/8th), Shane Perry :tongue_smilie:
Probably why we won the premiership.

2006. Thriving under the coaching and motivation of the coaching god, with Lockyer coming of age as a five-eighth and captain. It was a golden year for the man who once gave me the finger at a trial game.

Who could forget his run out of our in-goal area to set up the famous Berrigan try in the Prelim Final vs the Dogs :)

Even if you included his time at the Roosters, I still believe Hodges best year is 2006.

Hodges at the Roosters was a bit of a quiet achiever and really didn't come into his own until a game against the Broncos post-Origin where he absolutely carved us up. That game coincided with the Roosters going on a 9 game unbeaten run that catapulted them into premiership victors but if I recall correctly, Hodges for the most part wasn't really sighted during that finals series. The only time I recall him doing something of importance was in the prelim when he grabbed McGuire and got his clock rung. That was a crucial moment in the game as the Broncos were gaining momentum and were looking to grab the lead and by rights Justin had just given away a stupid penalty...except Harrigan didn't see it that way...at the time. Later on he confessed he got that decision wrong but it was of little consolation as we farewelled one of our club's greatest with little fanfare and plenty of angry callers on talk-back radio.

Easy. 2006, he was the best fullback in the game that year, Lockyer was the best half in the game and Berrigan was the best 9 in the game, well equal best at least. No surprise we won it that year.

IMO 2007. It wasn't a very good year for the Broncos, but Hodges carried the side while Lockyer was down. Leading try-scorer for the year, and IIRC scored 4 tries against in a losing side against Penrith (yeah, the game that Wallace won with a FG).

Echoing 2006 but in 2005, he had a point to prove and I remember he won just about every man of the match at Broncos home games.

Some of those weeks when rep players were out, he just pulled the whole team through.

I'll continue to vote for 2007 though. Won the Dally M Centre award that year.

2006 he only played the last few round games at fullback and the finals, missed a huge chuck in the middle due to injury and was nullified at fullback by brilliant coaching by Brown in the semi. He played more games at centre in '06.

Who could forget his run out of our in-goal area to set up the famous Berrigan try in the Prelim Final vs the Dogs :)

That play in general was unreal from Hodges run to Masons effort running down Berrigan and Berrigans effort to still get the ball down how he did.
