Not even close, hasn't been for a couple of years now. I rate Ben Hunt higher then Peter Wallace and i'm sure other people wouldn't mind seeing him out of the side too, even if it just takes him getting dropped for a few games but even then that didn't help with origin so who knows.

lets see how old wallace goes this weekend against parra then :)

Old Wally will struggle like he always does but Hook pens him as the heart and soul of the club. Unfortunately it is in a club who don't even have the slightest chance of making any noise. Worst halfback in the league, would trade him for anybody.

No he isn't, Prince and Norman are worse, unfortunately they both play for our team :)

Re: Round 9 - Eels vs. Broncos - Pre-Match Discussion

So you would trade him for Fein, Jacob miller, thomas' leulai, Jeff Robson, any parra halves, Kris Keating, sironen, any cowboys halves (not including jt). Wallace is a step above these players. He Is an elite half. Just the worst elite half. He has never even threatened a line of ants but offers a similar skill set to Adam Reynolds. (not quite as good decision making but is an extremely accurate boot) the issue with this is that we have no John Sutton or gi. None of our spinal members threatens the line which makes it very difficult to create opportunities for others without your forwards dominating.

100% agree. Hopefully people aren't offended by the liberal sense of reality in this post, you do understand that BHQ's official position on Peter Wallace is that he is the worst player ever to strap on a boot right?

What I meant was that out of all the #1 halfbacks at the other clubs, I would rate him near the bottom, I went thru the list and there are 11 that I would rather have than him although I would love to have a Sironen or a Jacob Miller at the club, they are players of the future. I wouldn't rate Wally an elite, someone who isn't even on the radar of a state side who have lost 7 straight series cannot possibly go by that term. I stated last week that he had his best match in almost a year and I am hoping he continues this upward progression, when Wally is firing, the Broncos fire eg. a 7-1 start to last year when he was in the best form of his life. It has all went horribly wrong since though.

For mine there are at least 7 halfbacks who are definitely better than Wallace, with 3-4 more who have a different style but could potentially be viewed as preferable.

Hmmm...

Cooper Cronk
Daly-Cherry Evans
Adam Reynolds?
...Mitch Pearce?
.......Shaun Johnson?
..................................................Chris Sandow?

I can't even come up with 7 and all but two are questionable to me.

Plenty on par with Wallace, but better? I want to see your working out.

I was actually including Thurston and Marshall in that list, not realizing they are actually playing at five eight right now.

The five definites for mine are Cronk, DCE, Johnson and those two I mentioned above, and whilst not elite, I consider both Pearce and Adam Reynolds to be better too.

Re: Round 9 - Eels vs. Broncos - Pre-Match Discussion

I'm with you BP, although a little different.

Cronk and DCE are the only ones at a really higher level.
Johnson has the talent, and with more consistency can be as good as the two above.
Pearce and Reynolds are imo at about the same level as Wallace, with similar qualities and similar flaws.

Sandow? **** no!

Fair enough Ari.

By the way, this isn't me saying Wallace is awesome.

Oh contrare, this is me saying the current standard is ridiculously low.

I'm a bit confused by the order of your list.

Please tell me you aren't rating Pearce as a better Halfback than Johnson and Sandow..?

I'd take Tyrone Roberts and Albert Kelly over Wallace in a heartbeat. Probably McCrone or Sam Williams as well.
