How's his isc form ? 1910 ? Copley to miss I suppose. Super sub Kodi more likely although Parcell would have suited for his superior defence....

I've watched both his games the last two weeks and he's been strong; defence v Wynnum was very good. He didn't miss a tackle coming off the bench. V Norths he started and did a good job.

Jets are an oddity to come back to; in some ways it would be great but for a prop I think it would be hard. It goes against most of what you're normally doing. You can see a struggle within Parcell too switching between two very different ideas and plans. Easier for him because he knows it really well.

Unsure what to make of the past couple of weeks. It's been nice to win, and win well but neither the Titans or Tigers are September sides.

Manly are different.

Their dreams of a premiership maybe in the rear window but they know what it takes to play that September brand of football and with the band back together they can certainly trouble a few sides. Now granted, they stumbled against the Cowboys the other week but outside of that, they've been looking better and exposing a few pretenders along the way.

Brisbane should still be too much but they'll want to win comfortably if they're going to challenge come the finals. For that to happen, the likes of Thaiday, Wallace, Dodds & Ofahengaue are going to have to step up and show us what they're made of. Wallace in particular has an opportunity to prove he's more than just a benchwarmer.

Favourite narrative heading into the match is Hunt v DCE. Both guys were on equal pegging in their junior days only for DCE to soar to heights not many saw coming. Hunt is closing the gap, but can he surpass? Saturday will certainly paint a clearer picture.

Something had me thinking DCE was out for an extended period, that changes the dynamic a touch.

Great..that's exactly the kind of news I wanted to hear. Better still, it comes from someone who has watched him live and a keen student of the game. The Jets would be easy to play for in one sense and like you say would be difficult to embrace if playing for on and off. Hate losing Parcell, just like I hated Granville leaving. Thanks for the update.

You weren't imagining things Mo, Cherry injured his shoulder against the Cowboys and failed to return in the second half.

He pulled up fine against the Warriors, even if he didn't do all that much.

He has a bad shoulder and struggles to tackle on one side. Manly most definitely do not think the seasons over and are planning on going on a winning run. We are due for a stumble as all long winning streaks suffer the same fate. This will be a big test and I know WB is aware of the danger. I don't believe we need to lose before the semis but we need tough hard unrelenting games and I reckon we are going to get a shitload of that.

I think a loss would be good. For both superficial statistical reasons (that is, "surely the winning run has to end sometime?"), and also just to refocus a team. We can definitely afford a loss too.

I just don't want it to be against Manly. Or the Roosters later on.

I don't want that loss yet.

I don't want them to lose against Manly and I don't want them to lose at home. That walk back to Milton station is a lot longer when you're walking away from a loss.

I would be fine with a loss to the Rabbitohs or Roosters.

I wouldn't have too much of an issue with a loss... but why are we playing all the teams I hate most? :tsk:

Of the bunch left (Scum, Dogs, Dragqueens, Souffs, Grubs and Cheats), I guess the least evil would be St. Merge, although I wouldn't like for them to go undefeated against us this season.

I would not be surprised if we drop either the Storm or Souths game. Our defensive shut out of Melbourne aside, both teams seem to have our number of late. Roosters also a 50/50 proposition.

Dare say we can put Manly to the torch. It will be truly sweet to put the nail in their coffin. Still remember them ending our season in 2011. Payback time motherfuckers.

Tell you what I would like to see more than anything else in this clash.... Ben Hunt dominating DCE. If you listen to their old coach(can't remember his name) who had them both in their earlier years, he mentions that Hunt actually had more of the goods so to speak. Well, now is the time to show that. It will just be one more piece of the puzzle which will lead the Broncos to a possible championship.

This week Joe contributed; 40 minutes, 21 tackles two misses, 9 runs, 96m.

If he were able to replicate those stats this week and halve the missed tackles it would be a good result but the NRL is a cut above. Losing McGuire and Blairs experience and replacing it with keen young blood can work but it makes me a little nervous.

Losing Blair will put a rocket up Wallace and the rest of the bench forwards. Wallace ran for 140m last week, I'd wager that that will increase against a weaker Manly forward pack as a starting prop. Broncos by 12+

I am not that optimistic that I'd call Manly weak. They may have had a wretched season but I think they will give a spirited display. The Manly team and staff do not think their season is over and an injured and cornered animal fights the fiercest.
