Yeah, it's a little stupid.

They want more people to go to the Friday night game.. So their plan is have a 6pm timeslot, only an hour after most people finish work.. And it's in a time of day when the traffic is just crazy.

Even public transport around that time is a pain in the ass.

The fans are more likely to just stay home.

Thankfully, I won't have to put up with that. Broncos won't get the 6pm timeslot. Channel 9 won't give up the Broncos.

Perhaps we might've ended up with a deal that has more FTA games (and all in HD from next year...), with a revamped digital subscription service. Instead of you know, part owner Telstra who owns 50% share in Foxtel who wouldn't want a streaming service to be too good because they'll leak money on the other side.

It is not surprise that they wont risk the crowds of Sydney clubs testing this BS timeslot.

I suppose we will find out if the TV networks still run rugby league ... The NRL keep going on about increasing crowd numbers and getting people through the gates .... well this timeslot is going to have the exact opposite effect ... so if it stays long term, you know the TV networks are still in charge

lol @ the 6pm game, i hope they're prepared for shit crowds and shit tv ratings. most people who work in the city and finish at 5 are flat out getting home and comfortable by 6. and for regional places like townsville who have travelling crowds, gl leaving work early to go to a game.
