I'm actually liking everyone writing us off.

You see the articles etc and no one is giving us a chance. It's going to be an easy win for the red hot Storm, they will towel us. They are the far superior side.

How many times have we heard that and Broncos have won? You never write off a Wayne Bennett coached side. Let's face it, Storm are not unbeatable. They have weaknesses, and we have the talent to exploit those weaknesses.

Storm may win, but I don't think we'll make it easy for them. I think this game will go down to the last minute.

Win or lose, if the boys can keep it close and put in a better effort, I think they will gain a lot of confidence from it. This could be the game that kick starts our season again.

Wasn't it 2006 when we played the Storm around the same time of the season? We lost narrowly but Bennett credits that game for turning the season around. Nice parallel though.

Disclaimer- I may have this totally wrong.

you don't ...

it was a few rounds later though i beleive ... closer to round 20

Round 23.

Went down 18-12. IIRC, we came very close to scoring a possible equalizing try but a Broncos player put his foot on the sideline. Not sure if it was Boyd or Tate.

@Big Pete probably knows. I could have that all wrong and be thinking of another game.

Won 6 from 7 after that.

Unless you're talking about the Round 18 game.. In which case, never mind. But we did lose our next 4 after that so I'm assuming you're talking about the Suncorp game.

Boyd.

Michaels came in for Boyd and managed to stay in the field of play to score a quality try against the Eels two weeks later. A lot of people wanted Michaels to remain in the side, but Boyd was favoured.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion . Waddell's service has been fine with Hunt and the others getting the ball when needed. If the only change is McCullough in and Waddell out then I don't believe anything will change. McCullough barely plays 55 minutes and when he comes back it's unlikely he'll play big minutes. I remember McCullough look truly pedestrian in 2014 when Granville came on and lit the place up. McCullough was always slow off the mark and his service was only adequate but that said he was better in 2015.

You may well be right and McCullough may be the magic beans but I think we will need a hell of a lot more than our old hookerback.

I guess what I am saying is that to the team, Macca is more than the sum of his parts lol haha  (maybe Mrs Macca can comment privately on that as well ...)

On a more serious note, it also worries me that Hunt + Milford (each and together) seem to be getting BORING

From training this morning it's being said Maranta will play outside Roberts. Kahu to left Centre. Macca to make his comeback.

Andrew play this game. If broncos loose this game again who gone be responsible.

Bennett could do well to snag a cheap centre before 30 June to cope with all the injuries

And looks like Jonus Pearson is firmly in the mix if Maranta or Kahu don't play

Kahu and Macca got through some contact work this morning.

Positive signs.

Glenn on the other hand sat out so I would say his chances of playing are very slim.

courier mail said macca sat out training all together and glenn trained all be it without contact

I read that Macca joined in and Glenn is the only one that sat out the contact work.

BRONCOS five-eighth Anthony Milford is on a mission to rediscover his confidence.

The Brisbane sensation revealed today he had struggled in recent weeks due to a loss of the self-belief he had at the start of the season.

The Broncos have lost five of their past seven games, with Milford largely silenced by opposition teams.

Milford is “not too sure” why his confidence evaporated.

But the playmaker said he was determined to find that self-belief again and get back to his best.

“It’s about getting my confidence back,” he said

“I went away from my game and there were stages where I would just drift in and out.

“I just need to be better.

“I’m slowly coming back to where I was at the start of the year.”

Brisbane will need to be back at their absolute best for Friday, if they are to be any chance of beating the red-hot Storm.

They suffered their worst loss of the season last Saturday when they went down to the Bulldogs 40-14.

The Broncos and Milford will be boosted this week by the return of hooker Andrew McCullough (thumb) and back Jordan Kahu (shoulder).

While McCullough had to sit out today’s training session, he will be named this afternoon by coach Wayne Bennett to take on Melbourne.

Kahu meanwhile trained strongly this morning.

Nikorima named at centre, Kahu not named, Maranta on the wing, McCullough and Glenn named, Su'A and Waddell on the bench.

A bit surprising that Glenn has been named considering he can't do contact work yet.. Or maybe they sat him out on purpose.

I expect Kahu to be named later on in the week. He has to get through Thursday first.

Hope Kahu makes the final cut by Friday. Nikorima in the centres is a nightmare.

Although it's probably not a long term option, I'm pretty interested to see how Nikorima would go at left centre for 80 minutes.. If he could handle the workload defensively he might be a nice option, would certainly add some speed and x-factor to the left side to compliment Milf & Oates. Heck, if he turns into a starting caliber cente we can grab his brother back from the chooks to fill his bench utility role next year.

It seems incredibly unlikely that someone his size could defend at centre though, unfortunately.
