It's mental that it's frowned upon to say Ash Taylor has a better kicking game than Ben Hunt.

Who is doing that?

I think everyone agrees that Ash Taylor has a better kicking game.

Pretty certain you were in your own special way.

No.

My issue wasn't with the fact that people are saying Taylor is a better kicker. Because he is the better kicker.

My issue was with the change in opinion when Hunt and Taylor put up identical kicks. One is shit, the other is good.

Like last year in Taylor's debut game..

High bombs straight to the fullback.

"Good kicking from Taylor."

All we heard all year whenever Hunt did it, "That's a shit kick from Hunt."

I agree Taylor has more upside and he is the better kicker, but I think some people's love for Taylor affect their opinion.

That must be the minority because Hunt is capable of some really nice kicks but he's just nowhere near as consistent as Taylor.

Bombs have never been Hunt's problem and he can put a nice long range kick too, like he showed a couple of weeks ago when he was turning around the souffs pack, but his attacking kicking accuracy, variation and range is just very poor, and where the massive difference is between him and Taylor.
Besides, Taylor will have shit kicking about as often as Hunt has good kicking.

I think some people's love for Hunt or fear that Wayne's choice may have been wrong, is clouding their opinion...

The choice between Hunt and Taylor comes down to our premiership window, plain and simple.

Hunt was the correct choice because we were a premiership contender and we were a bee's dick from winning it last year. This year should have been our time, but it just hasn't worked out that way.

The problem is now Taylor looks like the better choice, as we won't be ready to win it for a couple more years while our forward stocks gain experience.

But this is all hindsight. The right choice was made at the time.

You still ignored his point. He isn't talking about their overall kicking games, he is saying if Hunt puts up a bomb the majority say "rubbish kick" if taylor puts up an identical bomb he is praised.

I could ask if your love for Taylor & an entire preseason of doomsday prophecies around Bennett are clouding your judgement, but that would be a pathetic thing to do...

Really? Does he or you have an example of who says that?

Besides taking swipes at people, do you have an opinion on the matter?

Hunts kicking game is not his strong point but it's not that bad... I'm more concerned with his decision making and ability to construct some sought of attacking play. It all looks sluggish and predictable... It's so disjointed again like we've gone back to 2014... I would of thought that between Hunt, Milf and Boyd we could develop some sought of cohesion and built on what they had last year... ***** me?

You know that it is constantly said on here, go through the live game threads. I think I made my opinion quite clear.

No it's not, but if you think it is, it should be pretty easy to point those out.

And just to be clear, you don't believe there is any reason to criticise Hunt, or to think that releasing Taylor may have been a mistake?
And you also don't think that criticism of WB is warranted, is that correct?

I haven't been here very long despite following the Broncs since 2000.
I was a Balmain supporter but when they merged with Wests I was off, Terry Lamb cost us the 1988 GF and when he was appointed coach that was the last straw for me.

My very first post on this forum was in May 2014 and I was whinging then that Hunt couldn't kick and nothings changed.
Hunt has forced 9 line drop outs for the whole season. Thurston forced 5 in the last game he played and he only played 60 mins.
Taylor has about the same as Cronk.
Hunts kicking game has always been crap and its not improving. I can understand halves having poor games when the forwards have no impact but a half without a kicking game has no hope in the NRL.

I really wish that we were playing Newcastle again this year. We flooged them and laughed at them with our first encounter and I 'd say they would beat us if we met them again. There would be some explaining to do then.

No that's not what I think. There is certainly reason to criticise both but not to the extremes that most are and certainly not to use it as a chest thumping opportunity to try and say 'we were right about Bennett all along'.

All I ever ask in discussions is that the extremes aren't always used but that seems to be the only way some will argue and I'm not interested.

So, you don't consider the bold comment an extreme in itself?
