Is moga defensively sound ? I was hoping for offa to get a run , am still not sold on Arrow.
I'm not sure Arrow gives enough for forward considering Glenn comes on and plays a lock type roll anyway.

Judging him from the little i saw of him in the ISC last season and the trials, He seems a little static in defence. Looked pretty easy to get around tbh, but he does seem to monster the opposition if they run straigh at him. Its a little hard to judge that part of his game as yet to be fair.

Certainly not weak, can come up too far and then might be stranded or leave others. He had the misfortune of being in a pretty terrible Cutters' side.

Doesn't surprise me that Mead is struggling to secure a spot. But the fact that Moga may secure a place in the squad has me flabbergasted, he is nothing more than a Q Cup player. I am open to being proven wrong though.
Injuries have taken their toll on him but before those injuries he looked very promising.
He's a damaging runner and has good hands too, when he first came on the seen I thought he was going to be something special.
I thought his career was pretty much over and then we signed him so I'm really hoping he turns it on.

Maybe Kahu's defence in the wcc has made Bennett rethink the situation. And like you said is good in the air , another attacking option .

If no one remembers, Moga was the one that cut Milford in half in the Round 3 game against the Cowboys in 2015.

If so, Glenn is versatile enough to be used in the backs if we have an injury.

his lateral movement isnt great in defense.
can get caught out very easily and leave his inside and outside man exposed

As I see it we only have 1 specialist prop on the bench Ese,Ese

Which probably explains why Arrow is in the side.

McGuire moves to prop when Arrow comes on.

From memory I think moose moved into prop during WCC?? Glenn was playing in the middle after 20min mark when ese went off so McGuire may haved moved to prop while ese and offa were both off.

Moga is slow as anything after all his knee injuries. There's a clip of what he was like at the Roosters on youtube before all the injuries. He was an incredibly promising player. But in saying that he is a shadow of that pace-wise these days.

He can hit, he's physically built to and has good technique if he hits. His worst effort last year was against the Jets. Seven missed tackles on Nemani. Plus four ineffective.

But again in a terrible team, the Jets two centres and two wingers all made over 100m of ground and Jets' Purcell the winger that was on his side got four tries.

He was very good against the Blackhawks earlier in the year; against Hughes and Murgha not missing any even though they come down his side and he made nine and zero ineffective.

True, but I wouldn't say Kahu is much quicker? I just feel that Moga seems to have a presence when he's on the field... Maybe it's just his size? But he strikes me as one of those players who can read the game well

I remember Moga making his debut for the Roosters and the commentary team were talking him up big time. Fascinated by the size of his thighs too, but it was Johns or Fittler I think so no surprises there.

So what was his injury(s)? Knee recon(s)? Is that something that gets better over time (ie, a couple of years) or do the new grafted ligament joins never have the same strength/elasticity/speed as an undamaged one, and the player is permanently nobbled?

I'm pretty sure he has had a couple of knee reco's (not sure if same knee) among other things

Think it all depends on the rehab. I think the surgery itself can make things better than they were before the injuries but the rehab can determine a lot of the outcomes.
I've always been of the opinion that these injuries take a couple of seasons to come right...

Oates seems to think otherwise !

Pretty inexperienced/unproven bench but it's all we have to choose from I guess. Can anyone else see Blair and McGuire playing pretty big minutes to cover the lack of experienced middle forwards on the bench? I'd say McGuire has to move to prop at some stage to rest sims/Blair and Glenn or arrow moves to lock.

Of course that whole statement could be irrelevant if Wayne picks a totally different line up which is pretty likely
