I don't think Thurston could have changed the result. Our forwards just got dominated.

Maybe not, but I think he would have made us more competitive. Do better in the first half, and maybe the 2nd half doesn't go as bad.

If we hadn't let that late try in just before half time who knows

I personally thought Milford played really well, handled it defensively. And several times made that side look stupid with his crazy footwork. Ashame that doctor is a pussy.

He missed the tackle on Tedesco close to the line in the fashion he's let a lot of people score against the Broncos.

QLD talk all week about how they are going to unleash Milford, come up with a gameplan that plays to his strengths.

Game day comes, he is hardly used the way they were planning when they were in an attacking zone. It's almost like they were deliberately avoiding him when they got the chance.

Edit: Flaming.

You cannot seriously blame that try on him? Bird tried to push him in the face after Milford had been concussed by Oates the play before. He never missed a tackle on Frizell or anyone else before that.

There was nothing wrong with QLDs atttack ffs. Whenever they did get great field position they looked like they would score every set. Milford was exceptional and dangerous the whole entire game until taken off. The problem was the ability to get there with the forwards and being able to control Fifita and Klemmer. That was the difference. Myles, Guerra and O'Neill out and we will be fine. We were arguable the better side in the first half. We could not have played much better. They were just brilliant and flawless

Exactly. Easily our most dangerous player and they gave him nothing to work with. Was like they didn't trust him.

NSW didn't drop the ball at all while the game was still alive. They were very disciplined with the ball, they will be doing well to achieve those stats again. Add that to the fact very few penalties were even blown and we really just didn't get down their end while the game was alive. lol Katter was right, we need more linebreakers. Myles,Morgan, Oneill, Walters out. Thurston, Wallace, Munster, Katter in.

Seriously? We were in the first half and I disagreed your calls in the second. Over reaction maybe?

EDIT: by we, I mean Nate Myles (who Ilove, regardless)

I don't think so soup, I don't have victim mentality. There was grubby stuff on both sides, more from us overall.

I don't agree with the calls for mass changes. I thought we played really well tonight just got rolled by a better side. I really think Thurston will make a difference particularly in defence. His talk was missed and if he is there barking instructions I'm sure the whole pack will lift.

Really? I saw a lot of things wrong. Some poor decisions in attack, and some very poor 5th tackle options.

What I mentioned was part of our problem. We didn't try to use Milford's biggest strength when we were in the attacking zone, which is his running game. We hardly tried to get him 1 on 1 with a defender.

I'll give my full thoughts later when I get a bit of food into me and get the JB out of my system, but that was one of the best Blues performances I've seen.

Awesome first half from both teams, but in the second New South Wales just had too much going for them. In a way it was reminiscent of those early 90s games where you had Chief and Lazo constantly charging through with a bunch of stars supporting them.

The Maroons dropped their bundle in the second half and clearly missed having the likes of Inglis, Thurston & Scott out there. I think the few selections Queensland stuck their necks out for let the team down and I expect we'll see the last of those players.

I wonder how long it will take NSW to replicate that performance?

Disagree. We were fine in attack. They were just brilliant. Sometimes you have got to tip your hat. Chucked everything at them and they continually found something. They were just better around the ruck defensively. Mainly because we were sucking in the big ones and couldn't keep up. They saved about 3 tries from brilliant plays

Typical game plan again with the midget forward pack trying to bash their way forward with one out hit ups. Then kick and hope to god our defence holds out their monster pack and backs.

If what we saw tonight was the definition of fine attack then we are in trouble. QLD can do much better than that.
