OFFICIAL Herman Ese'ese to Knights

Two days ago it was reported that the additions of Broncos players Tautau Moga and Herman Ese’ese to the Knights were “likely”. Now, it appears we can upgrade them to “done”, assuming they don’t backflip (or as it’s more colloquially known, “do a Cherry-Evans”).
According to The Courier-Mail, the duo have signed with the knights, while several other sources – notably Fox Sports reporter nathan ryan and WWOS’ mole – have indicated that the 10-day cooling off period remains in play (particularly in the case of Ese’ese, who the Broncos are known to be keen to keep).
So set your timers to T-minus 10 days, Knights fans – it sounds like there’ll be a couple more presents under your red and blue Christmas tree.
Moga has played 47 matches for the Broncos, Cowboys and Roosters, and 3 Tests for Samoa.
Ese’ese has played 23 matches for the Broncos and Bulldogs, and 1 Test for Samoa.

Yeah up to 4 of them . Its concerning because they are good prospects. Forwards win games .
I'd argue it's a good thing that our fringe players are worth poaching to play larger roles at different clubs. Even if we lose Ese'ese, Ofa, Fai and Arrow they were only competing for one spot in the 17 anyway, a spot most people seem to want Lodge or Haas to take anyway. Yes our depth takes a hit at first, but we don't know which players from inside and outside the club will be taking those spots yet. So far the only loss that impacts the quality of our 2018 side is Hunt, and we at least have options there.

Herman informed the Broncos today that he's joining the Knights in 2018 according to Fox Sports.

Time to re-sign Ofahengaue & Fai.

Joffa has been getting better and better the last few weeks, he needs to be retained.

BRISBANE coach Wayne Bennett has delivered the bullet to Herman Ese’ese’s career at the Broncos, ruthlessly pulling a new offer as the prop’s contract saga at Red Hill turns ugly.
The Courier-Mail can reveal Bennett has taken a hard line stance with Ese’ese, withdrawing a contract offer following revelations the 22-year-old is on the verge of signing a $1.4 million deal with Newcastle.
Ese’ese was named on the bench for Friday’s 42-12 loss to the Storm, only to be dropped on match eve, with Bennett adding Joe Ofahengaue to his interchange.
The hulking bookend — rated by Broncos teammate Benji Marshall among the best young props — is said to be shattered by the reality he will not be at Red Hill next season.
It is understood Ese’ese has not formally committed to the Knights and was still weighing up the prospect of staying at the Broncos if they could get closer to Newcastle’s offer.
But three weeks after tabling their offer, Bennett had had enough and pulled the deal, effectively clearing the path for Ese’ese to move.
Negotiations with other stars have dragged on longer, Anthony Milford’s $4 million deal took six months to finalise, but Brisbane could not improve their $275,000 offer.
The Kiwi Test hopeful has produced the best football of his career this season but his manager Simon Mammino yesterday confirmed Ese’ese will sever ties with the Broncos at season’s end.
“The Broncos have pulled the deal,” Mammino said.
“Herman honestly hadn’t made a final decision on his future … but after three weeks of the offer being on the table, it’s no longer an option.
“Herman has no choice now but to leave.
“Herman is in shock with what’s happened. Newcastle are definitely interested, but the Broncos have been good to Herman and we were hoping we might be able to come to a resolution.
“We haven’t agreed to terms as yet with Newcastle, but it looks like that’s where he will end up now.”
Ese’ese has impressed in 14 matches this season. Despite averaging only 36 minutes of action he has amassed 1477m at a mark of 105m a game — making him one of the most effective metre-eaters.
By going to Newcastle, Ese’ese can secure a regular starting spot in the front row, something the Broncos could not guarantee.

Sucks for both parties but if you wanted to stay you'd take the contract on offer.
Don't begrudge Herman taking the extra cash though.

Pretty strong message to anyone else hoping to use other deals to raise their price. You want us to match the Knights... nope enjoy the wooden spoon for the next 3 years

You've just started playing first grade, the Brisbane Broncos and Wayne Bennett offer you a new contract to stay at the club and be part of a winning culture for the next few years, and instead you stare it right in the mouth for the opportunity to play in the biggest rabble in the league, and potentially winning the spoon for the next 3-5 years.

Seriously the worst decision this kid has made, and maybe will ever make in his career.

It's fine to have a view on it but surely after seeing Unbreakables declaration on Wallace a lesson has been learned about declaring with absolute certainty.

It's POSSIBLY the worst decision he's ever made and MAY BE the worst he will ever make. How can you know it's his worst decision unless you've been there for all them and you don't know the future. Newcastle are team on the way up and I doubt they will be cellar dwellers next year or for the next few. Around here Wallace going to a bottom team at the Titans was seen as the exact same thing but nek minnit he's starting for Qld.
