Australia v England Fifth Test

This was a good illustration of Smith's game sense & concentration levels, everyone else is clapping and happy for Mitch Marsh, Sir Steve Smith immediately notices that both Marsh are celebrating mid-pitch instead of completing the 2.

He's an interesting fellow Smithy. I reckon he would be highly competitive and professional in everything he does, not just cricket but even folding the laundry.

Interestingly, I remember watching an interview with him where he said he doesn't actually like watching cricket. If he isn't batting, bowling or fielding, he would rather be doing something else.

Haha and right on cue, SMarsh runs himself out.

jeez England aren't even going to come close here, what a way to finish the series for Australia.

On a related note, how good has Lyon become! He looks like he is bowling dynamite wherever he plays these days, even on roads.

On another related note, given how well the Marshes have batted (I have strong doubts about whether they can produce in SA against THAT attack but whatever), the only question marks on this side at present are:

1. Who partners Warner to open - Burns/Renshaw/Bancroft (he is there at present but shouldn’t be on the plane)/someone else?

2. Who goes as the fourth quick - Bird/Richardson/Sayers/Pattinson (if available)/Siddle/Behrendorff/other?

I'd stick with Bancroft and bring Renshaw just in case.
And I like the look of Richardson, if he does good in the ODI series I'd say he will be on the plane

Get home after a shit fucking walk through baking heat..flick on the tv, crack a beer and INSTANTLY Lyon gets Ali...that's some good karma.

Goodness me that bumper to Broad to get him out was brutal. I'd be happy to literally survive that, not just metaphorically speaking.

New Zealand will owe us.

England fielded for 193 overs which is the longest Ashes' innings since 1993- Border 200no, Waugh 157no and Boon 107. 4/653d.

That's over 1000 overs this series, again the most since 1994/1995 Ashes.

They're cooked.

How does one not know they've nicked a ball when the ball SMASHES into their OWN thumb and then decide to review it? That does belies belief to me that Crane reviewed that.

Good on you Australia, gives a good message to any team coming to play on our turf.
