He hasn't achieved anything in the game yet and I certainly don't see him as the appropriate replacement for the greatest coach of all time. He would be silly to leave a stable job and enter the pressure cooker that is the Brisbane Broncos. It could be a career killer which is why he is unlikely to leave Souths where the spotlight is not near as prevalent.

Why haven't the Broncos honchos contacted any of the plethora of league 'experts' on here to take over as coach seeing as heaps seem to believe they have the answers? Wayne may not be perfect but I can assure he knows more about running a footy team then all the contributors on here combined.
Experts would be a stretch. Many of the Bennett knockers were on his side two weeks ago. A win over Souths will have them back on the wagon. Sports fans are mostly reactionary and seldom include the big picture. Their opinions one week can turn 180° with just one result. I'm a huge Bennett fan and I think moving him on would be fatal. But that is just my opinion and I guarantee that it won't altar.

Nah. There were plenty of fans who foresaw that Nikorima would be a poor option at halfback before the season even started and said we'd have an ordinary season.

Wayne is accountable for this decision.

I was one of those fans. In all honesty, most supporters on here were tipping Kodi to have a big year and many were very confident of success this year. Kodi is the HB because he is the best option currently at the club and Bird's injury didn't help in that regard either. Hunt's departure blindsided Bennett and there were no other options. It was a gamble that failed but Bennett shouldn't lose his job because of it. Somewhere in Niko might be a really good halfback but it may take a couple more years experience for that to flourish.

So you only want a coach with eight premierships? Get Bax up I guess cause he’s your only option.

Why not due diligence and systems that find the next great coach?

I don't want spuds like Hook and Henjak again and until Siebold achieves something, he will be just another spud in my books.

Griffin could be a pretty good assistant coach I reckon.

I really can't see him leaving Souths. They have offered him an extension and he wants to wait until the end of the season before deciding.

Normally when a coach is offered a new contract they are quick to say "where do I sign" but I think Siebold actually believes Souths can win the comp this year so his price will go up considerably if they do.

Good luck to him.

I like the brand of footy Souths are playing, it's obvious they have changed their style of football but the only time I'd seriously consider Seibold at my club is when/if he wins his 1st premiership. He's got to prove he CAN get the job done before I'd even consider him walking into such a high pressure job coaching the Broncos. You think Souths fans are hungry for success? You've seen nothing yet and him coming to the Broncos will be extraordinary pressure.

Who do you thinking Wayne should have played at half instead?

Well forgive us for our concern but after our previous due diligence and systems landed us with Henjak and Griffin I am hardly filled with confidence.

First things first...The Brisbane Broncos are still a competitive team.

The Sharks, Panthers, Roosters, Rabbitohs... all these teams that have these wonderful game managers and organisers...guess what?

We've beaten all of them! Easily, in some cases. Furthermore, we did it with our two humble, mediocre running halves.

We nearly had the Storm as well. Not the second game where they clearly outplayed us but that match at Suncorp.

The Roosters - Rabbitohs clash on Friday was a terrific game. Frustrating though because we've beaten both of them but seemingly aren't in the same class as those sides.

As for Wayne Bennett, I don't expect the media to let up. They smell blood in the water and won't stop until they get their pound of flesh.

In a way I guess it's the chickens coming home to roost. Wayne Bennett has thumbed his nose at the media for decades and made them look like fools.

It's doubtful they've forgotten all the times he's led them down the garden path and made them look stupid. Now that he is getting on in years and at the back end of his career they can sense he is now finally vulnerable.

Make no mistake, once Bennett leaves the game it will be one almighty dragon the media will have finally managed to slay.

The back slapping and arse slapping and stroking each other off blindfolded in the media will be unbearable in the immediate aftermath.

Brace yourselves.

Henjak was sacked and Griffin installed as the new coach in early 2011. Wasn't it about a fortnight before the season started or something silly like that?

We didn't have time to do our due diligence.

Once Bennett goes I do think the club needs a fresh voice. Personally, I don't want Walters and I don't want an assistant coach promoted to the top job.

The problem is you can only select from the available coaching pool.

Invariably the good coaches are tied up and not available ie. Bellamy (who I think played us to get a better deal but that is another story), Robinson (I think he would be great but is well and truly tied up by the roosters), and seibold (yes he is technically available but as I have said previously I really think he is waiting to see where Souths finnish the season to get the best deal he can and is not interested in moving.)

I agree last time we got it wrong but yes we should still do due dilligence etc. but in the end whoever we get will not be our first choice and there will be some risk attached, it's unavoidable.

Having said that the main reason I am apprehensive about us getting a suitable coach is the mess White made of the whole Bellamy saga. I am far from convinced he is the best person to find us the most suitable one.

Pretty much anyone not Bellamy is not going to be absolutely ideal, so we will have to take a punt on someone with the most potential at some stage.

It'd be so interesting to see what a new coach would do with the likes of Andrew McCullough, Boyd, McGuire and Milford. Everything the way it is at the moment is so bloody stale.

Yep I agree with all that. To be completely honest irrespective of whether Bennett is pushed out I think White needs to go. He has bungled this whole mess.

Yeah agree with this to an extent.

Broncos management seem to be getting off scot free.

Not sure about White needing to go per se but not everything is the coach's fault and not everything is the player's fault.
