Yeah cause he has only screwed his two clubs financial with dumb deals and hasn't one dicck for along time. No thank you !

Don't want a rookie coach unless Wayne is around in some capacity (he won't be). Who else is there?

He won't be making Dog like deals at this club, not with our management structure. We have a big, highly skillful forward pack, something he did extremely well with for the Dogs. Just a thought.

EDIT: Blokes that play under him seem to like him as well.

The guy that tried to **** the salary cap to win a premiership and then get the **** out and leave the club in financial trouble? Twice?

He'll be practically walking into a squad with a 'just add one half back' caveat to win the comp. He won't need to make dramatic signings, and I doubt the club will let him anyway.

Is this really anything we didn’t already know?

The board has already rejected his proposal earlier this year to extend his contract and have said they won’t make any further comment until post season and their October meeting.

So I would expect the whole sacking this is purely speculation.

Of course it may be true, but there’s a fair chance it isn’t also.

I hope so. We knew they weren't extending him a while ago, but firing him?

Not extending him, in some capacity, is a mistake IMO. Firing him is just lunacy. Absolutely deserves to go out with some dignity.

There is a reason he isn't coaching .

Hasler has won two premierships. He's also contested nearly half a dozen grand finals over the last decade.

I really think Hasler could bring a lot to our club. Maybe with Bennett in an advisory role.

His win rate is still close to 60%. I'm not sold on him, and would prefer Seibold because he has the potential to be a 15-20 year coach, but he's better equipped at handling the job than some noob.

EDIT: I'd take Wayne over all of them. I can understand the club looking to move on with him coming out and saying he doesn't know how much longer he has left, but he'll call time before he goes a year too long. What the **** are the Broncos meant to do? Wait until he does retire, which could theoretically be in a month because we are a real chance of missing the finals, and then scramble for a coach? Let Wayne, who is admitting by retiring that he's passed it, choose a successor (hasn't EVER worked in the past might I add)? They're in a very tough spot, and Wayne isn't making it any easier by threatening to throw the toys out of the cot and move clubs like a 70 year old toddler.

Also, how is he meant to know if he's gone on a year too long? Many on here will argue that he's already lost it.

EDIT 2: Trying to play devil's advocate here and see the other side of the issue because I'm firmly in the keep Bennett camp for now.

We are quickly falling from grace. Our great and classy club the Broncos are going to let go the one man who IS the Broncos and the one man who made us what we are.

This feels like 2009-2014 all over again. I agree, currently, the way this team is performing isn't up to standard even for a top 8 team let alone a top 4 premiership contender, but is changing coach the answer? I'm honestly not sure. Why do the players have such low confidence and a weak mentality? I think Wayne is the best man manager coach to get them to overcome that so is sacking him the answer? I think Wayne needs to employ someone who is crafty and smart with attacking plays and get some mongrel about the team in defense. We need to keep the ball alive more in attack and absolutely switch on in defense but all this won't make a difference if we are submissive, lack confidence and are fragile mentally.

You really think Bennett would stay on as anything if we give him the arse? I think we know Wayne well enough to know that he can hold a fairly decent grudge. The old bastard is just as likely to stay coaching for as long as he can at another club to try and win a premiership purely to spite us.

Strange Paul White and Bennett are not even on speaking terms, if true.
Don't know anything about this Karl Morris, never really heard of him, until recently.

What does everyone think of maybe Justin Hodges ( not a ft coach just yet ) but def bring him in as an assistant.
He loves and bleeds for the club and is very inspirational and IMO why we made the gf in 2015

we should only even think about Hasler, if we are happy to miss the finals for an extended period (after making a GF of course)

If you think we are just a halfback away from a premiership you are delusional.

Surely it's bullshit.

If the club outright sack him, then I hope Paul White ***** off shortly after too.
The way he handled the Bellamy saga was a disgrace.

It's probably the main thing that needs money to be spent on. The other important things are "experience" and "luck" (with injuries and in general).

We have other weaknesses, but so does every other side.

Yeah you're right, we also need our best players fit and firing coming into the finals instead of the situation we're in now with 5+ sitting on the sidelines. You can add experience into that equation as well, but plenty of our young blokes will have plenty of that by late next year.
