Man, the dude’s a freaking Harvard graduate!
That’s an impressive cv he has there. I’d take him in a heart beat. The thing I like is his quest for knowledge, like he’s ready to try new things but never at the expense of the team.
No he's not a Harvard graduate. He's certainly a Harvard attendee as he attended a course, but he is not a Harvard graduate. Nevertheless, it is obvious that he has set his mind on bettering himself academically as he goes through his life's journey which I applaud whole heartedly.

The other standout piece of information, which incidentally he chose to finish the article with was how John Sutton was 34, approaching his 300th game and had just beaten two of his PBs in the off season. That's the sort of leader you choose to build your future forward's culture around. What a great example for the young forwards coming through their ranks.

Let's all not forget that Bennett has before walked out on us before..
My opinion is that the game has passed WB/he is reluctant to change his coaching methods.
Sure he can still bring players to the club, however I will be surprised if we even make the 8 this year.
I would like to see Seibold in 2019, however I don't see it happening with what he's done at Souffs.
I have no doubt theres alot more to this, there must be alot happening behind closed doors.
Hopefully we don't see Hook back at the club, for mine that's a step backwards.
Michael Maguire wouldn't be a bad option if we can't get Seibold

Chris Garry has posted on Twitter that Bennett will not get an extension and pending a review he may be gone as soon as October.

I’m a biased Bennett supporter so I have to think there are things happening behind the scenes that we aren’t privvy too. Otherwise this is very reactionary. If that’s the case then I will support the club’s decision and not bitch or moan.

I really hope that they have a good candidate ready to replace him though.

That would be pretty fucked to not let him see out his final year/get TPJ locked down while he's still here.

This bullshit that Wayne has passed it is complete dribble. He is not a master taction, never has been but what he does do is surround himself with those people. So to say he dos'nt evolve with the game is bullshit. I'm not saying we shouldn't look to the future but to pull the sort of shit that seems to be happening is just Sydney type knee jerk.

For mine the buck stops with the coach. They get the praise and they have to take the other side of it too. It comes with the nature of the role.
Tell me what’s wrong then under Wayne's control?
What’s happening with he halves?
Why did we resign Boyd last year to a 4yr deal with the money he is on, and the form he is in?
Yes WB has done very well with some of the young fellas coming thru, but Bennett of old would not still be selecting the likes of Thaiday and Boyd in the form they are currently in.
He had no issues dropping Hunt last year when he was probably in better form then Boyd at present.
Tell me how a first year coach in Seibold (who has no where near the amount of control as WB at his club) can develop a style of play that he has, in a with a team he has had for less the 12months, not to mention he inherited most of that roster..

I wonder when was the last time Thaiday beat some PBs and I'm talking football related PBs

You are missing the point i am trying to make. Every team has to deal with an injury, or internal drama, during the season. The way in which the team has performed around this is not acceptable. There is a significant attitude difference for a team that loses by 30 to a team that loses by 1. Unfortunately when things turn to mud, the side of the fence this balance sits on is not great.

If our squad is that fragile that taking out Gillett or having Bird injured since the day he walked in amounts to such a significance that we fall in a heap with no resilience or discipline on field - then we should be playing netball. Neither player are that huge and the talent around them both in age, maturity and fresh legs should be enough to be performing more consistently then so far.

I am shitting on the results and performances and some of the personnel choices. Promising a halfback his position in the media was mistake number 1. Promising Thaiday would finish the season in top grade was mistake number 2. These two alone would be pissing players inside the 30 man squad off and i dare say even the starting side. They are not sack-able decisions, but they do raise a fair question if he is heading in the right direction. Of course we do not know all the information or whats discussed out of the media eye.

The answers were all there.

The injuries to those players in isolation wouldn't be a problem. But when you add them to the fact that we were had a very young pack even before those players went down, it compounds the issue. We've not only had to throw in a couple of players before their time, they've been playing beside inexperienced players who have had to play big minutes (Su'a for example) who themselves are inconsistent just due to that inexperience.

We do have players with a hard edge that would normally help us claw back a game. McGuire for one, unfortunately he's fallen victim to going too far. Gillett has always been there for those moments, we're missing him for sure. But like I said, we've desperately missed Hodges. I will never claim to be certain, but it would appear to me that Bird was not simply a luxury buy, Bennett bought him in to be the new Hodges, not so much in skill set, but in terms of taking a game by the scruff and simply willing a big play or change in momentum.

The other ones have been addressed. For Nikorima to improve, he needs both time and confidence, putting him under public pressure would almost guarantee he fails. Thaiday is limited but does more than you see on TV and has been vital with our lack of experience.

700k for a captain that was in really good form , no one can predict what will happen in the future. Can't just pull a 7 out of his arse , he obviously backed kodi and thought dargan would progress. As for seibold , how often do you see teams fire under a new coach . Not to say he hasn't done a good job but players react to change , its not like the rabbits where a bad team when he took over .

The perspective here that really needs to be taken is:

Are the Broncs better or worse than when Bennett returned? Have they gone forward or backward as a team?

I suspect everyone will have understandably differing views but trying to answer these two questions objectively answers whether pushing Bennett out the door is the right or wrong option.

I don’t know myself but can see the arguments to say it has gone backwards. A new coach will always be a risk but I just can’t get my head around some of the weird retention and recruitment decisions Bennett has made.

The ONLY really undeniable reason to keep Bennett as coach is his ability to still draw players but he doesn’t need to be head coach for that to happen.

There is no possible way the Broncos as a club have gone backwards. Not one legitimate argument. We might have one less nrl level halfback but we have a few next big things coming through to cover that. Anything else is pure exaggeration and agendas.
