Now it appears coaches are falling over themselves to take over the Tigers, including a seven-time premiership winner regarded as the greatest mentor in the games history.

I had to laugh at that one :)

at this stage, i would be leaning to Maguire ... he has had premiership success in both the NRL and ESL .... my biggest concern is how he seemed to burn his players out ... if he has learned from that he will be an asset to us.

apparently, he will have one condition and that is that he be allowed to continue his role with the Kiwi's

Him continually coaching NZ is no problem in my books. Who knows it might benefit us in some way but I doubt it. We let WB do it so I can’t see why we would deny a good coach for that reason.

My bet is we end up with demetriou and Walters a close second. Maguire and Seibold don’t seem like they’d move to Brisbane.

Personally i think the only way we will sign Maguire is if Seibold tells The Broncos he isn't interested in the job.
Yes I agree. Iirc the talk about Siebold started not long after Bellamy rejected the Bronc offer. Thing is Siebold already has an NRL club and a good one at that whereas Maguire is looking and maybe an easier target. Although I'd be happy with Maguire, Siebold would be my choice. JD, who had a faultless record before coming to the Broncs, remains an unknown quantity and please, please no Kevvie.

Seibold would be my choice, but I highly doubt that Crowe would let him leave the rabbit$$

Maguire I think would be good, I just don’t know how the players would get along with him, for whatever reason, he seems harsh on his players.
I am worried about all the young blokes coming up thru the grades if we end up going for someone outside of the broncs system eg Maguire.

I think Kev would bring the broncs back to a more accessible club for the media, however I’m not convinced he is the best choice as head coach.
I think it all comes back to what the broncos as a club want. With Kev, i think the club would be more approachable and players be on the likes of Foxsports, 360 etc.. but I worry that we may not see the success we demand.

JD warrants a crack at the head job, but I’m not convinced the Broncos want a rookie as head coach, I think they want someone whose done the job before.

I think it all comes back to what the board wants, and hopefully that is to win a premiership.

For mine, there is no clear candadate, Bellamy was the one but that didn’t happen.

God I hope we don’t go to a rookie coach tbh. It has killed us in the past with Henjak and Griffin. Though Seibold and JD seem like good coaches we need a coach that has tasted success and has already got a premiership.

Seibold has only been in Sydney 12 months

Maguire wants to be an NRL coach again ... now he could do that with the Tigers or the most well resourced, most prestigious club in the NRL

Crowe can't stop an off contract coach signing where ever he wants

Thing to remember is Souths in reality swapped Maguire for Siebold and appear to not want to let him go.

If Souths offer similar money to Brisbane then I can't see Seibold leaving Souths. He's implemented his own way there and has the runs on the board. He'd have to start again coming to Brisbane and go through that whole process again.

Maguire just plays Bennett-ball really.

I'd like to see Demetriou or Walters.

Maguire moved to Wigan to coach.
Brisbane would seem like New York in comparison.

They may not want to let Seibold go, but he is off contract.

so if we make him an offer and he accepts it, then too bad for Souths.

Our facilities blow those at Souths out of the water ... not to mention the quality of the roster we have here ... this would make it very tempting for Seibold to return to Queensland

Maguire knows how to win ... Assistant to Bellamy, Premierships in both NRL and ESL ... just needed to learn to taper his training and intensity a touch to avoid player burn out

What has Walters done as a coach that makes you think he should coach this great club ... was it his 37% winning record at Catalans in the far weaker competition

The dragons are a second rate team , would've been hard to win anything especially back then.

FYI. Souths are currently building a new facility, and it looks damned good, so that's likely not a deal breaker like it would be if you offered it to Brad Arthur, who's operating out of a fucking demountable.
