What absolute amateur hour.

Disgraceful way to sack him. The club better actually communicate their reasons because so far, this has proven they've been nothing but fucking liars the whole way through.

Also if Seibold is the person who leaked the email to ensure he gets sacked, I've lost a lot of respect for him already. He better know how to fucking coach and not be a dud, because he's essentially got the man who built this club sacked and is walking into a 5 year big money contract. The pressure is fucking on him, and anything less than a premiership in the next 2-3 years, with very obvious signs of improvement will be a huge let down.

No one has come out of this looking good. There is a smell on all 4 parties. Bennett, Seibold, Rabbits, and Broncos.

Bennett was one of my biggest idols for the first 20 years of my life. But at the end of the day I’m a Bronco supporter. No matter what the real story is behind the scenes I want the club to be the winner. If the rift between Bennett and Broncos is as real as it seems. Sorry, Wayne. I want the best outcome possible for our club.

Yeah agree, I don't think any party has come out of this debacle with their credibility completely intact.

I’ve got a lot of time for you mate, but surely you can see how Wayne has puppeteered this whole debacle for his own gain

He may have, but it's only guessing. The club, the chairman, the CEO, Rabbitoh's CEO, the assistant coach, WB himself, all on the record have said the plan was to always coach in 2019.

If the club wanted to sack him, they should have conjured up the balls and did it immediately at the end of the season, not wait till 1 day out from pre-season.

If they're sacking him because he allegedly was active in Souths operations then that's a different story, and I would want the club to be transparent about that. And if that's the case, why would WB puppeteer that? He gets no money in that scenario.

So did Bennett win or lose?

Everybody lost. This entire mess has been a horrible look for everyone involved, but especially for the Broncos board in particular for mine. With this being the ultimate outcome now, you could honestly say they could've ended this circus a month ago and saved the club a lot of drama.

Wayne Bennett-Anthony Seibold swap finally confirmed

THE Wayne Bennett saga is finally over.
Bennett has coached his last game for the Broncos, with the seven-time NRL premiership winning mentor to leave Brisbane immediately.
Bennett will be replaced by South Sydney coach Anthony Seibold at the Broncos for the 2019 season while Bennett heads to the Rabbitohs.
After 25 seasons at the helm of the Red Hill franchise, Bennett’s tenure is finally over following a bitter split with Broncos powerbrokes.
Last Friday, Bennett shocked the NRL after declaring he was ready to dig in and serve out the final year of his contract despite being heavily linked with an immediate move to South Sydney.
The Broncos were reluctant to sack Bennett, however the landscape changed dramatically over the weekend following Seibold’s revelations Bennett had committed to join the Rabbitohs on December 3 before reneging.
Bennett, 68, was contracted to coach the Broncos in 2019, however the club was keen to move him on to avoid any destabilising drama next year.
Seibold signed a four-year deal with Brisbane from 2020, but will now link with the Broncos in the coming weeks on a five-year tenure that will keep him at the club until at least 2023.
Bennett’s immediate move brings an end to one of the greatest associations in rugby league history.
Bennett was Brisbane’s foundation coach in 1988 and guided the club to all six of its premierships, the last coming in 2006.
He left the Broncos in 2009 to coach the Dragons, where he won a seventh title, and Knights, before returning to Brisbane in 2015.
The Broncos qualified for the NRL grand final in Bennett’s first year back at the club, but lost an epic all-Queensland decider to the Cowboys in extra-time.
Bennett was keen to remain as head coach of the Broncos beyond 2019, but the club’s reluctance to extend his tenure lead him strike a deal with the Rabbitohs.
He refused to depart Brisbane early before the relationship eventually became untenable.
