What shits me in this whole affair is that Siebs has been up front with the media at all times. I mean the guy sits for nearly ten minutes at the Sharks' after game presser answering questions. The presser was just about to close when a few dickheads try to turn to the Rabbits game and begin asking puerile, pre-pubescent questions. Siebs thanks them for their time and leaves. Nic minute - Siebold storms out of press conference!

They're making a rod for their own backs and this sort of shit is susceptible to the law of diminishing returns.

Yep and they are then the first to whinge when coaches won't talk to them.

Seibold: 'Dearden Is Ready To Play'

ANTHONY Seibold sought the counsel of perhaps the greatest Bronco ever before he rubber stamped teenager Tom Dearden for his NRL debut tomorrow night.
Seibold spoke to his assistant coaching team of Peter Gentle, Kurt Richards and Ben Cross, as well as Broncos’ captain Darius Boyd.
He also engaged the great Darren Lockyer, who himself made an NRL debut at nearly the same age back in the 1990s.
All were adamant the former Australian Schoolboys half was ready to start the match against the Rabbitohs.
“It’s a great occasion for him to make his debut as an 18-year-old kid,” said Seibold this morning.
“I have chosen him because he is ready to play.
“Not only did I think deeply about it, I consulted Darren Lockyer, my three assistant coaches and Darius Boyd as well.
“To a person it was unanimous it was a good decision to play Tom.
“It is a big challenge against a really quality side, but we think he is up to it.
“I don’t seek counsel from too many people.
“But I sought counsel from Darren Lockyer because he is a really smart person not only in that position, but in and around football.
“I have really three good assistant coaches and I asked Darius our captain.
“They are the blokes I spoke to and including myself, who has the major say, it was unanimous.
“There are a lot of crappy things about coaching but one of the really pleasing things is giving a young man an opportunity to make his debut.
“For Tom and his family it is a special occasion.
“And we think Tom is the right player for tomorrow night.”

Mmmm, amazingly some people wondered why WB didn't dawdle and encourage the media. Perhaps he tried it Seibs way and found it wanting?

Hmmm I doubt that. But even he was it would be hard to compare considering how much more cancerous the media has become over the last 30 years.

Not sure what you mean there Huge. when you say Benny didn't 'dawdle' does that mean he left abruptly too? Would this not be exactly what Siebs did?
Mmm, no. Seibs did the opposite. He stayed too long by the seem of things whereas WB would make the conferences as short as HE needed them to be. WB dictated terms which I loved and got out when it suited him. Seibs apparently was trying to be accommodating and then ended up with journalists dictating to him. It's no biggie, everyone's got a style and I'm sure Seibs will master it:)

Boyd's 300th game. Deardon's debut. The chance to test our full pack (sorry Su'a) on quality opposition and all the rip and shrapnel surrounding the swapping of coaches.

Win, lose or draw tomorrow night will have so many subplots and is a must watch. My tip. Ensure you get to the bottle-o well before kick off.

I wonder if sua is to be on the bench, would that mean Robert's to drop out and kotoni to take his place. I find it strange not to use kotoni at hooker instead of sua .

Just watched a replay on Foxsports of Wayne's pre match presser. The Sydney media are loving him, eating out of his hands.
Everything negative about the Broncos possible was raised to Wayne: Seibold, management, players leaving, Kodi's departure, players not being happy etc.

I thought last year the media hated WB, and that once he departed, the club would be looked at in a bit of a different light however, this have gone the absolute opposite.
More Broncos bashing by the media then I can ever remember.

Boys, please just get the win over Souffs tomorrow.
That should shut a lot of this BS from the media down.

I lived in Sydney for three years. It is no myth that we are hated down there by many. There are still many who believe it is still a NSW comp. and any other team outwith have no right to succeed let alone win one.

Unfortunately, we have too many NSW players at the mo for Siebs to make it an us against them issue.

Has su’a played at 9 before in the lower grades?
If so, how’d he go? For some reason I just can’t see it.
Would like to see bird, or even better, Staggs head into the 9 role at some point to give macca a rest.
