NEWS Joe Ofahengaue signs three-year extension

Joffa better be running 100 metres plus every game for that price

it isn't an overly high price for a front rower these days ...

this seasons so far he has failed to make 100m 3 times ... and in each of those 3 games we had less than 50% possession. also in 2 of those 3 games he made over 30 tackles

Roosters we had 41% possession
Dragons we had 47% possession
Souths we had 43% possession

NRL.com has Joffa running for 114m against the Storm, just for arguments sake, I think he's only failed to go over 100m twice in 8 games, which is very good for a young forward.

Now that we've invested in him for the future I think I'd be starting him at Lock with Lodge & Haas at prop. Use TPJ & Flegler as the 2 impact battering rams off the bench.

Yeah ball control has been disgusting this year. How do pro footballers who have been playing the game since childhood cough up so much ball..

i meant Roosters , not Storm (we had 41% possession against them)

NRL.com has him running for 122 metres against the Dragons as well :O

Champion Data have him running for 90m against the Dragqueens

You see, I never know who to believe, how can there be a 32 metre discrepancy between 2 companies? Like, I could understand 4-5 metres, but 32?...

The reason being is because CD have him down for 3 passes.

Joe Ofahengaue is down for 12 runs on NRL.com, but on CD it's only 9 runs. They don't count the metres made and the runs if they pass the ball. I don't get why, but they just don't.

That'd explain it, I guess because it's technically not a "hit-up" they don't count it, but they should. I'd imagine they have Andrew Fifita down for about 40 fewer running metres per game, he runs to the line and passes just before it regularly.

If $500k is correct that is way overs for Ofa. I'll upset some fanboys saying this but he's a bog average middle forward who sometimes pulls his finger out and has a big game. I really don't see anything special about him and I highly doubt he'll become the world beater people talk him up to be.

I miss moose.

500k is overs for Offa. Top hot and cold and doesn't offer much. Just hitups with no versatility in attack, can't offload and doesn't have ball playing ability like Lodge hence why he should not be our 13. Much prefer Lodge and TPj and I hope they don't leave cause we have no cap space to re sign them.

Did better than both of them from the bench on Thursday night. Imo lodge is gone

Officially official.

Grateful: Ofahengaue's New Contract

BEING grateful - it is something that Joe Ofahengaue has been reminded about plenty of times over the past 12 months.

So it was fitting that he chose a visit to the Endeavour Foundation to talk about the new three-year contract he has signed with the Broncos, that will keep him at the club until the end of 2022.

Ofahengaue, Patrick Carrigan, Jamayne Isaako and Herbie Farnworth spent some time with the Endeavour Foundation employees this week.

The Endeavour Foundation is dedicated to helping people with a disability to live fulfilling lives, working together to turn possibilities into reality for each individual.

Ofahengaue endured a tough time over the past 12 months as he supported his long-term partner Sofi Leota through a battle with breast cancer.

That treatment has been successful, and now the pair can add the financial stability needed to plan the next stage of their lives.

"I always wanted to stay at the Broncos and I am so happy I now have the next three years to settle down with Sofi and play some consistent footy," said Ofahengaue.

"It has just made everything clear for us.

"Just moving forward now we can just settle down and buy a house out at Ipswich and plan for the future.

"I am just glad I got to sign a three-year deal with the club.

"I have always been grateful to the club and everything it has done for us, especially with Sofi when we went through a cancer battle last year.

"I also love the boys in the club I play with week in and week out, and staying a part of this team was a big goal for me, to keep working hard.”

Ofahengaue and his teammates signed autographs and had hundreds of photos with the Endeavour Foundation staff.

He said he had always enjoyed these types of visits

“It does (make you grateful) - especially as this is back in Wacol and just around the corner from where I grew up,” he said

“Just to put some smiles on some of the clients' faces, even for the hour we were here.

“It makes you feel good and makes you remember how lucky you are to have a job playing football.

“It makes you feel humble when you meet the clients that are working here at the Endeavour Foundation.”

Excellent news.

People on here seem to chop and change in their opinion of him, but he's a top lad and he's only going to get better.
