I don't know why people are all up in arms over this. That man has religious beliefs and he has every right to voice them. This is a free country and he hasn't harmed any body. No body is forced to go look at his instagram, twitter or facebook. No, people seek it out to be offended. Its like me complaing about a femists post calling me a privileged white male or an lgbt saying that all cis white males should die. Or going into a muslim mosque and complaing about going to hell due to being an infadel. laugh and say **** em.

This nanny state has to end. You can't walk around thinking you will never be offended or that every one will agree with your way of life. Its your life so who fucking cares what some random person thinks about it.

We have stood up for people on here who have committed actual crimes. But Izzy speaking his beliefs is seen as unforgivable. **** me.

The go fund me is a good idea as it shows he is not alone. I will donate because one day its Izzy the next it could be me or somebody else and if you think the word police will just stop at this your crazy.
I agree. People should just see him a the religious nut job that he is.
The two main problems with this talk is that young people struggling with their sexuality commit suicide , this doesn't help
Secondly statements like this embolden those who would do harm to those of that community . you can't ignore that just because it doesn't affect you. You also can't deny that it's a thing. What astounds me it that morons like this just assume people's sexuality is somehow their business because of religion.

Religious beliefs don't exempt you from contracts or workplace codes. Muslims still have to pay interest on their mortgages and Muslim bank employees still have to charge interest on loans. Rastas aren't allowed to fail drug tests and Hindus don't get religious festivals off without prior agreement.

Here's the common sense rebuttal. Makes sense to me.

It's just unfortunate, as they say, that common sense... isn't that common?

Some comedian once said something along the lines of "if the <insert religious document here> could be reduce to "just don't be a khunt" we'd all be much better off.

Sounds like something Ricky Gervais would say.
This one from him is also just a tad relevant.

BUT YET STILL HIS RELIGIOUS BELIEF.
Hell awaits gays, drunks ect ect,

It baffles me that you don’t think that was his religious belief. Do you think he just made it up ?
But the whole thing is made up...
"Would that those who are upsetting you might also castrate themselves!"
Galatians 15:12....
Are we not all God's children? Wouldn't he therefore be saying this to the exact same people Folau is vilifying?... There's plenty more hilarious, contradictory, and damn right ridiculous quotes from the very same book he, and others, cherry pick their "morals" from..
Religion should be mocked, why can't it be? For centuries it has been used as a tool to crucify (ironic), burn, torture, murder, and rape. Every time it gets shown to be absolute bullshit (via science) religion goes back on its word and says "but it didn't mean that, it meant this", all the while forgetting all the people that were persecuted because of the bible/korans verses.

It should be mocked, he should be vilified...

Its cyber bullying, and its fucking disgusting. Don't hide behind your shit fairytale. You have no devine insight, you're just gullible and want to believe you matter more than the 10 billion other people who have lived and died and didn't believe in the same shit as you... Its honestly that simple

That’s hate speech mate! You’ll be lucky if you have a job on Monday.

Just another perfect example of double standards. Go have a soy latte and calm your farm big fella

How many times does this need to get explained to you?.... He got fired for BREAKING A CONTRACT. It was well reported that there were stipulations in his last contract about how he used social media, he broke them. I don't give a shit about his aru contract, I am just arguing the point that he is cyber bullying.

The greatest thing religion ever did was make it offensive to question it. Are you so unsure of your own beliefs that you can't have them questioned? You think gay people just "believe" their gay? Who would want to be when people like Folau are around? People commit suicide over shit like this. It's funny that God would punish someone in such an ironic way. I wonder if he is laughing up there with his westernised looking face and white beard.

On that note, have you ever found it odd that god chose us to watch over? I mean, why aren't ducks the chosen ones? Snails? Why are we so special out of the billions of animals? I mean, this world is around 90% non habitable for humans. Its like he created it for bacteria, maybe their the chosen ones? Fish enjoy more use of the world then us Hahaha ffs the arrogance and stupidity of our species astounds me sometimes...

And soy tastes like shit... Nice comeback...

why is it so hard to believe that he would get sacked for posting what he did on social media ...

part of what RA pay for is his image ... like it or not.

he accepts his million dollar pay check, agrees to abide by the codes social media policy, then posts that crap anyway (despite being previously warned)

If anybody else posted the exact same thing on social media and we were able to be linked to our employers (which is easier in Folaus case) ... then we would all be looking for new jobs. I also doubt anyone would give us $3 million to fight our unfair dismissal case (there is no way it would ever cost that sort or money to fight)

FTR, he reportedly isn't just suing for the remainder of his contract to be paid out, he is suing for $10 million (nearly 3 times what would be owed on his contract) then he'll get several million in change from his GFM donations (assuming there are enough deadshits to give him what he is asking for) ... now go and tell me this is about principle/religious freedom, because that's BS, it is entirely about $$$$$ ... whether the church has influenced him to scam as much cash as possible (so they get their cut) is an argument for another day in another thread

I fully understand that he got sacked for reasons involving his contract.
I just find it ironic that your fine being so bashful of Christians but have a totally opposite opinion about bullying when it comes to a different subject. What’s to say someone reads your hateful comments about Christianity and tops them selves. I’m cool with people bashing Christians as long as the rules apply for both sides

Why is questioning religion bashing it? Can't religion be questioned? It's a belief. I'm not saying Christians should burn alive for eternity (hell was never mentioned in the bible btw), I'm mocking what they believe.

Let me explain this so you can possibly understand.
If I said the bulldogs would win the premiership you would probably mock me correct? If I said those that didn't believe the bulldogs would win this years premiership should burn in hell that would be hate speech. Now interchange the word bulldogs for god... Now tell me which sentence is more similar to what Folau said. Are you starting to get it?

Wait... God's going to win the premiership this year?

Hardly seems fair. Anyone know if SportsBet are paying out yet? They always do that on the certainties :)

Thanks for that. To be honest, though, my coffee was a little too hot to be coming out my nostrils, but cheers anyway.

Jim Jeffries is the other one that loves letting the air out of d|ckheads. Though he swears a hell of a lot more!

Very interesting discussions in here but please remember to keep it civil. No religious debating or personal views to be pushed, thanks.

How can anything posted on here be anything but a personal view?

So did Folau secretly meet with the Broncos - oh sorry, that’s not what this treads about. ****.

After struggling with his sexual orientation since the seventh grade, Washington teen Jace Taylor finally came out to his family last year. But the 18-year-old admits his struggle was more about his faith than his “super accepting” family.

“I was concerned because the Bible taught us that a man should not lie with another man,” Taylor tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

“I kept on reading the scripture and kept on analyzing it and came to my own conclusion that since Jesus said to love and accept everyone for who they are,” he says. “And that's why I'm comfortable to be a Christian and comfortable to be an openly gay Christian.”

While Taylor’s immediate family welcomed the gay teen with open arms, it was his “second family” that betrayed him, he says. That’s because the Firs, a Christian organization that “raised me in the Christian Faith” fired him from his camp counselor position after discovering he was gay.

“I was heartbroken and I felt betrayed by them,” Taylor says.

Since the age of six, Taylor has been heavily involved with the Firs, a Washington-based non-denominational Christian organization that offers a variety of camp programs to “impact lives with the good news of Jesus Christ.”

After attending various camp programs, Taylor wanted to become a Fircreek camp counselor. “This was a lifelong dream of mine — since I was little I wanted to come back to this place and impact kids like they did with me,” Taylor says.

He recalls his time playing outdoor games in the woods, swimming in the water and singing Christian songs at the camp with great fondness. He went on to attend their camp throughout middle school to high school and even worked at the Firs Retreat Center dining hall for four years.

“I felt loved and accepted there. They taught me how to be a good person and a good Christian” Taylor adds.

Taylor was hired by the Firs to be a camp counselor at the Fircreek Day Camp last month. He was meant to start leading bible studies with a group of 10 kids this weekend. But, before he could start, the organization discovered he was gay after Taylor changed his Facebook profile picture to an image of him and his boyfriend at prom. Days after updating his profile, the Firs terminated Taylor from his position because his sexual orientation didn’t align with the organization’s beliefs.

“I got a text from the camp director to come in for a meeting,” Taylor recalls. “He sat me down and said, ‘I’m sorry we have to let you go based on your sexual orientation.’”

Taylor says the camp director, a close family friend who had watched him grow up “inside Fircreek and outside,” was conflicted over the termination.

“It wasn’t his choice, it was someone higher up,” Taylor says.

The Firs has not responded to Yahoo Lifestyle’s requests for comment. However, the decision to fire the teen due to his sexual orientation was confirmed by the Firs executive director, Tom Beaumont, to a local news station.

“When it became evident in the application process that he did not personally align with our statements of faith (in particular, one regarding sexuality) we determined we could not use him in this role,” Beaumont wrote in a statement to Q13 Fox. “In order to be consistent to our beliefs and our mission we felt compelled to pass on someone we truly liked in filling this counselor role.”

This has nothing to do with the player this thread is about.
