Will be interesting to see what happens when the Jets cut down to their 53 man squad, surely Holmes comes back if he doesn't make the 53.
Most recently, last 36 hours it's been reported that he's doing well and ahead of the curve according to one of the jets coaches. He may remain even if he doesn't make the 53. 12 months is nothing to a 23/24 year old. Learn more, go well next season.

Seems Parra might get Welch. Why aren't we going after him?

Has Welch even indicated yet he's not taking up his option at the Storm? He has another year there if he wants it.

we're all assuming that the cap has been well maintained up to this point. maybe that's not the case.

WIth Boyd being re-signed for anything over 450k, I tend to agree.

Actually, it looks like people are bailing because, they are being forced to work hard for their positions ... And they don't want to do that
Knowing Su'a personally, that is not his personality at all. All the people who have worked with him at the club, know the ethics of the young man and his attitude. He has been a victim of the Broncos' circumstances

Disagree. Broncos are cooked. It's like Seibold is trying to be shit on purpose so he gets sacked and make $1m a year for the next 4 years without needing to work lol.

We only sell players. Not buy them.

Really? Whether you like his on field performance or not I don't think anyone could accuse Macca of not working hard.

I agree with this. I do think he is coming to his time... but he definitely does his best. There are a lot of players being paid overs for their performances and most are senior players. However we need these players out there, especially with the inexperienced coach that we have now.

Yeah as much as I think Macca has lost it, i can't fault his effort. That's what annoys me most about Boyd, it honestly looks like he doesn't give a shit... Everyone in this forum knows how much I disliked players like Ben Hunt and Jack Reed because I thought they did some really stupid things, but one thing I always liked about them is you at least knew they were putting in 100% effort. And that goes for Macca too. Yes he is a bit slower and doesn't have much attacking spark, but he is always trying so I at least respect that.

I don't think the mail is correct on Lodge leaving. Warriors can try all they like.
Chris Garry tweeting both Lodge and TPJ extensions in a week. Sorry don't know how to insert the tweet here.

Radio said that Su'a asked for a release, so that suggests we won't be paying any of his contract.

Imagine this plot twist. seibold gets sacked and then rejoins Souths as an assistant. Secretly is a massive Wayne Bennett supporter.

Do you ever say anything positive about the Broncos, anything at all?
Not sure what you mean? I constantly stood up for Bennett, boyd, macca and most if not
all Broncos players.

you also have Hopoate, TPJ, Carrigan, Fensom

I would also personally at Ofahenguae to the list as i believe that is his best position.

you also have Flegler who has played there this year on occasion ...

IMO the backrow pecking order right now should be:

Gillett
Glenn
Fifita
Ofahenguae
TPJ
Carrigan
Su'A
Fensom
Hopoate
What a gee up !

Well losing Su’A is a bummer, particularly to Souths, and is an absolutely stupid decision if the Broncs pay any of his contract. I feel the soul of the club has really been ripped to shreds in the last few years and Bennett is a huge part of the reasons for that in my opinion (stress in my opinion).

Siebs so far looks out of his depth BUT I’m still giving him two years, I think I can see what he is trying to do.

If Lodge, TPJ, Oates, Fifita re-sign, then I’m ok with losing a few others like Su’A in the long run.

I don’t really understand Macca and Boyd continuing to get games other than Siebs has written this season off and once it is over can tell them, look you had your chance but you just aren’t in our plans.

You can stay but you aren’t likely to be playing first grade. I feel for Siebs on this point. No one wants Boyd or Macca, especially on their wages sadly, Broncs just have to wear those stupid decisions.

So moving forward, the nucleus of the side is mostly already starting to build:

1.
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4.
5.
6.
7. Dearden
8. Haas/Joffa
9.
10. Lodge/Joffa
11. Fifita
12. TPJ
13. Carrigan/Joffa

Around that, you’ve got Paix, Bullemor, Flegler, Perese, Coates.

The glaring problem is that only one of he spine building blocks is there.

Hopefully Turpin maintains the rage, otherwise that position is a glaring weakness as well given the loss of Simpkin.

If Milf is re-signed, I imagine it will be on a lot less too.

How are Souths affording all these players is the question I ask.

Did you see TPJ play second row against the Kiwis. No way would he be my pick for the 12 jersey. He has had enough time to make a position his own and has been given every opportunity. IMO he is an impact bench forward at best

At this point in time you are absolutely right. I’m thinking longer term though. TPJ right now is playing like an average bench player and that is the frustration, he should be so much better than that and hopefully will be but then who knows, maybe he never gets there.
