Am actually really looking forward to Darius defending in the frontline. If he just lets ***** run through him there then surely we swing the axe.

If it happens that is.

Moving the deck chairs on the titanic. Is it really that impressive?
No but what is impressive is your avatar has the audacity to wear the Titanics jersey while you continually bag it.

We have a player actively a avoiding contact. I know a good idea, let’s move him into the frontline.
We also have a 6 who until the start of this season was our best player, let’s move him out of position to a place he had some good games at 5 fucking years ago.

**** me dead
Hang on, wasn't Boyd throwing himself into tackles head on leading the kick chases? I'm not sure about how well he'll go with lateral movement but I don't think he'll shirk his tackles if a player's in front of him.

I'm skeptical as to whether this will actually take place... and I'm not really sure what they hope to achieve.

If Milf is starting at 1 he'll be coming straight up against Pearce and you can bet every kick will be a floating bomb... not the best way to start at fullback when you haven't played there for 4-5yr now??

I'm also not sure how effective Milf will be on kick returns. He was devastating for Canberra, but does he still have the speed to worry defensive lines... not to mention line breaking kick returns aren't really a common occurrence nowadays. Turbo got one last week, but I can't recall them happening too often nowadays... so there's a good chance Milf would just dump it off to the closest winger to return or risk being rag dolled.

There's also a worry that Milf will need to do even more work now... playing fullback whilst also being the main offensive threat, and main kicker long and short.

Also our sweep play hasn't been all that effective in recent times so getting Milf in space as the third receiver may not happen all that much.

On the plus side Milf would definitely be seen popping up on both sides of the ruck and will potentially sniff around the forwards for offloads.. but realistically why isn't he doing that from first receiver anyway???

He may have the 6 on his back, but for all intents and purposes he's our halfback. He should be positioned as first receiver all the way up the field and for tackles 1-4 he should be looking for offloads (I mean what else is he doing for on hit up sets on our own 30m line).

Yes.

The deck chairs we won 15 matches with last year

We were never going to win any premierships with that squad.

noone cares that we won 15 round games. This year is unfortunately the year we had to have. At least we are trying new things rather than the same old crap that doesn't work.

As much as I hate to say it... If he's defending in the line hes probably more chance of injury so that would help...

I'm sure it just broke your heart to type that....

If this does in fact happen, I don't have too many worries about Boyds defence because I'm confident in his front on defence. It's him being the last line of defence that is the concern IMO.

It's the effort stuff. Was the same issue in the few games he played at centre last year. He will make the tackle but often wasnt getting back in at marker. It's the same when he makes a tackle now at fullback when defending in the line. He makes the tackle but doesn't get back in position after it. If you watch other fullbacks. They make the tackle and are always the first one to peel off and run back to position. Boyd is usually slow to peel off and doesn't get back.

Maybe but he will have absolutely nowhere to hide if that's the case.

Yeah, they will just try hide him back at fullback like Bennett did last year after the switch... We gotta stop trying to flog a dead horse.

He can’t make any excuses if he pulls a Cartwright defending in the front line. At fb he can claim he got wrong footed or out paced or whatever, but if he pulls that in the front line he’ll be exposed.

It’s like an Arsenal mentality with Bennett: “oh we made the top 4/8 consistently and now we’re shit!” Finishing 6th doesn’t matter, winning comps does, and unfortunatley it looks like we’re going to have to cop it for a while because of the nature of the salary cap, the roosters did and now look at them.

I hope I'm wrong and they both play well and Seibold turns out to be a genius.

Have been waiting 15 rounds for that so may as well keep holding out hope.
