PLAYER Darius Boyd Discussion

Doesn't require a new thread, moved post here.

Yeah it’s getting ridiculous. Boyd is like... I don’t even know what. It begs the question, has there ever been a worse fall from grace in a rugby league history?

I don’t mean like Dave Taylor Chris Sandow fall from Grace... I mean like a reached their potential then they fell from grace.

Of the other big modern era origin guys Cronk is still fairly decent. Slater was still good. Lockyer was still good. Hodgo and Parker both could have gone another year. Thurston and Inglis both could have retired a year earlier, but they weren’t complete liabilities.

To Put it plainly, it sucks heaps

Meanwhile, Boyd was an absolute weapon in defence, especially in the first half. People seem to be ignorant of this.

His main job in attack seems to be his talk/organisation and feeding the ball. His attack does need to pick up; towards the end of the game he overlooked the perfect opportunity to step back inside on the 20 m line and straight into a gaping hole in the defence, instead passing outside to a no event situation.
Yeah thats a lot of fucking bullshit. Putting him a 6 to make tackles is just a pathetic excuse especially from Seibold because he was horrific at fullback and caved into the media pressure. If he is a 5/8 he should be helping with the kicking, organise the team and steer them around. His stats were 1m for 1 run. And being a 5/8 means he should be having a lot of touches in which he only had 10 all up which is NOT acceptable for being in the halves.

He hardly even feeds the ball. Maybe he should get into first receiver and feed it to forwards for their hit ups early in the set. then later on he can feed the ball to turpin and Milford can stand wider for once.

The only thing Boyd is feeding is my growing resentment towards him and the longer he is allowed to remain there stinking the place up it is now starting to feed a growing suspicion that Siebs may not be able to cut the mustard at such a big club as ours.

I've yet to listen to his presser, but there was no excuse for that poorly led and terribly disorganised performance last night. Playing IQ comes from the coaching staff and last nights' team played dumb footy.

And our attack was a disorganised mess. **** him off.

Case closed.

To me..it looks as if Boyd is simply being shifted around to fill the gaps we are having due to injury.

He obviously has been told he is never playing fullback again as that is Milfs spot now, and i expect when we get a fit SOS or Dearden back he will get punted to the centres.

I don't get how or why Broncos management would hire a coach and then not let him make selection decisions that are plainly obvious. A loss last night (whilst bad for our season) would have been the nail in the coffin for 2019 and maybe some wholesale changes.

That's a limp weapon if it can only manage 20 tackles while playing 6.

For exactly that reason

It was more the quality of those tackles tbh. I’m not even a fan, I just wanted to give some credit for the good stuff that I actually did see (for a change).

There was certainly some effort in some of them, but it was still below par for someone with the experience he has in the game.

At least he's not falling over at every tackle attempt now, so there is that.

If you think this year has been bad, wait till he progresses to a Zimmer frame next year and then a wheely walker in 2021, he'll be mobile (well, maybe not so much), agile (compared to a 95 year old) and hostile (but only to reporters).

He either plays wing.....or he's not in the side.
