NEWS Rabbitohs assistant Jason Demetriou says teams figured out Seibold

Yeah I get that, but Cook was on fire last season under Seibold. Maybe Bennett has added to this(probably) but I would say that Seibold unleashed him last year and certainly got more out of him than any coach before him.

He just said he’s more creative and I agree with that. His only instinct last year was to run. Now his passing and kicking are bringing results.

I think those stats are also skewed from our horrendous start when the players were still adapting to Seibold's style.

I would like to see Broncos stats after Roberts was let go
That shouldn't matter, it goes both ways. Both teams had to adapt.

Except I don't give a shit what souths are up to.

I am genuinely interested to see how the Broncos have been playing since a point when it appeared they had adapted to the new coach's style of play... and to me I noticed an uplift after Roberts was shipped out

I'd say it was a bit after Robert's left, we had more issues than Robert's at that point. I'd say that the cronulla game was when we started playing better.

Rd 9 we beat manly
Rd 10 we beat roosters
Rd 11 we beat warriors in NZ

All 3 games had improved defensive performances 10, 10 & 2 points conceded respectively.

Since rd 9 our record is 13 games 8-4-1 and 3 of those losses came during origin

We've looked pretty sloppy most weeks, but that is a pretty impressive record with the injuries and what not and it would be interesting to see how the defence and attack has stacked up

I would say credit to Seibold for wanting to come to Broncos. He knew he’s getting into a club where every action of his is very carefully watched. Being the head coach of most successful club in Rugby League is not a small thing. In addition to that, during first 6 months of his tenure, he has to deal with roster mess, gel with playing group & get them buy into his coaching style, please the media & most importantly, deal the criticism from old boys of club. He have carefully negated all these and able to get us the wins past 8 weeks and slowly building the confidence in the team. Surely, he’s here for the long haul and success will come soon.

No doubt he has lot to improve along with playing group and I reckon they’re doing that this year. The off-season should give them plenty of time to polish, alter some of the things and make everyone better next year.

Now, coming to Souffs & JD - I care least for them and only hope that they self destruct with their high talk on achievements and attitude.

Funny how he wasn't even mentioned as a possibility to take over at the knights

****, I reckon even staunch south’s supporters would disagree with most of this dribble. To say that Bennett has unlocked Damien Cook’s ability is fucking delusional!!
It’s laughable really.
I didn't read that in the article.

Fair point, however, isn't that really more a simple case of natural progression though?

To infer Bennett did it when Seibold wouldn’t have is only intended to inflame the situation, when in reality, any decent coach should have been looking to add to his game, to refine it.

I’d argue the transformation from what was essentially a fringe first grader to the Australian number 9 in the space of 12 months is what is most remarkable - and there is little doubting that transformation is thanks largely to Seibold.

I believe that’s what people think (and I agree with them to think such) when they read JD’s comments, rather than simply refining a very capable player.

It’s a bit like tuning a 500hp BMW to get 550hp. Most of the work was done when BMW spent 10’s of millions of dollars on RHD developing the car, not in some rev heads garage who just dumped another $20k into the engine / mechanics.

Thing is, it must be great to coach players with so much innate talent and skill. Bennett has it easy, and we have Macca.

These mind games are so juvenile they're a total bore.

If people misunderstand a thing that's on the people. It's pretty plain and straightforward IF the reader isn't, well you can fill in the rest.

My apologies too, I should have been a bit clearer.

I didn’t mean you were inferring anything, I meant JD by way of his comments.

👍

I disagree - I don’t think there is misunderstanding at all.

That’s the beauty of the spoken (and even written) word, and the English language in particular. Many different things can be portrayed using (mostly) the same words, allowing for even more varied understandings or interpretations.

Only the person saying / writing it knows the true intent.

For instance; I could tell someone I think you’re an alright bloke. Depending on how well I know you, that could mean I think you’re fantastic, we’re great mates and I’m just being the typical Aussie bloke and not showing much emotion. It could mean I legitimately think you’re just an average person, I don’t like you but I don’t dislike you. It could also mean I think you’re a POS but I am just trying to be diplomatic.

FTR, I think you’re an alright bloke 😂😂

It sounds like bennet was trying to get siebold to bite like before. He wants to fire up his team and what bettter way than to get siebold to respond to an assistant coach, whilst sowing the seeds of doubt. Sounds like more than a few supporters have bit too.
As for the statement itself, its irrelevent anyway as both coaches are molding the team to their style. What that means from here on in is how the sides compete in the big games. Let Bennet try his best and reply with a "straight bat". Surely we have a few new tricks left come the finals and Siebold should be focusing his players on that.
