Jack Bird to remain at Red Hill despite testing his value on the open market

In other words Brisbane are paying overs based on his current market value.

In other words, regardless of what you think of Bird as a signing, we are saddled with yet another player that nobody else wants. We have at least 4 of those currently in our top 30.

I hope Bird comes out next year and tears it up as much as the next person, but having virtually no choice but to put up with these stupid decisions is incredibly frustrating.

Seriously, is anyone else thinking we’re just going to field the same shit team we did last year? After the finals loss I thought they’d do a purge for sure, but no, still got Macca and Boyd, not getting rid of Bird to buy in someone we actually need, just the same old shit.

Only change I can see on the horizon as a possibility is Bird to either 6 in place of Boyd with Boyd to 4 or Bird to fullback, Milf back to 6 and Boyd to 4. If Bird’s in the team we’ll at least be spared from Shiba, but having to carry Boyd and Macca is depressing.

you realise these guys have contracts right ... we can't force them to piss off; if Macca and Boyd want to sit in reserve grade and collect their pay checks there is not a damn thing we can do about it

The more in the know forum members seem to think Boyd’s going to be in Qcup.

C'mon Jack, give us one good full season before you take off.

Whilst I like Jack and think he is a great talent, it's another display of poor recruitment by the Broncos. No one could be blamed or guessed the amount of injuries he was going to have in his time with us, but you can guarantee that he isn't leaving only because he cannot get his current salary at another club. We payed massive overs for him.
If Jack has a blinder in 2020, I have no doubt he will leave at the end of the season however, if he has a shocker or gets injured again, he will take up his player option for 2021..
Similar story for Macca, with his player option, and also Milford.
And to think we probably will not be able to go after a halfback purely due to the salaries we are paying the likes of Boyd and Milford.
Yes recruitment got it right with the likes of Haas however, I think lately we are getting it wrong ie. Milford, Macca, Boyd more then we are getting it right.
There are some positions in this organisation that need a serious overhaul.

Does anyone know if bird as a similar clause like Boyd ie has to play a minimum number of games to trigger his option for 2021?

Don't fall for the lies fellas. I will say it one final time then shut up till it happens, Jack Bird will not be a bronco next year. A deal will be struck for him to leave soon, mark my words. Don't say you didn't hear it here first!
